Little red Christmas dress

Hi!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
I finally had a chance to post the card I made for Lee's GKD color challenge. The challenge was to use the colors red, white and a color of your choice. I chose black.
The base of the card is white which you can not see at all in the picture. I used the snow flake embossing folder on textured red paper and then sanded to bring out the white core. The dress is from Retro Boutique and was stamped in versamark and embossed in black embossing powder on white paper and also on patterned paper. I cut out the top and the skirt of the dress and glued it on the dress on the white paper.
The pattern paper has snow flakes on it and I thought it went well with the snow flake embossing folder.
I covered the entire paper the stamped image is on with versamark and embossed with iridencent ice to give it some sparkle. The red gem brads give it a little bling.
I used ribbon to make a pom pom which is tied around the red card stock. I honestly did not think it would be so hard to make since I have made several pom poms out of yarn but with ribbon it took me a couple of tries before I got it to look half way decent...lol!
The first ribbon pom pom ended up in the garbage! I am not sure what I did wrong but I could not get it to look at all like a pom pom. lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Card

Hello!

I have been playing around trying to come up with a Halloween card. This is the one I will be using. It was actually a pretty easy card to put together once I figured out my template for the pumpkin and the stem.

I used the pumpkin harvest embossing folder for the background and rubbed metallic rub-ons over the whole background. The image is from one of those square block stamps that has images on the sides. I picked it up at the Scrapbook & Stamping Memories store last year. The image is colored with copics. I added a few rhinestones, how do you like the pink one on the nose? The vines on the stem are punch from the EK Success flourish punch.

Thank you for stopping by!

Things that make you go hmm...

Good Morning!

Have you ever looked at something and were not sure what to say and make that little hmm sound? I did that with these two cards. I do not dislike them but not sure if I do like them, if that makes any sense...hehehe!
I really like Rupa's Whatever Floats your Boat stamp set. I stamped a couple of these two images and colored them with Koh-i-noor pencils, OMS, and blending stump. My trouble started when I was forcing myself to use my scraps. I could not find a color combination that I liked. I actually made two cards of each image and the two I am posting are the better ones...scary huh?!!

The cs for both cards are SU. The dp is just scraps. There is a bit of sparkle on the dp in the above card. It's a bit hard to see in the picture.
The fish on the top card is one of the Cuttlebug die cuts and I also used the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder as part of the background.

The leaves on this card are from a little Marvy punch. This is the same punch I used in my star book for the tree.

Thank you for looking!
