Buckled gate fold

Hi!!

How are your holiday preparations going? I am so thankful we will be going to other family homes for the holiday festivities. If anything was going to be at my house, I would be in a total state of panic right now as I would have a lot of cleaning to do in the next couple of days! lol!



I wanted to share another gate fold card I made. I always struggle finding a way to keep them closed other than using a belly band, so I tried something different this time and it worked!.

The label stamp is Layers of Colors Elegant Labels. The sentiment inside the label is Gina K Designs Holiday Hospitality. The two Ornaments are from Some Odd Girls Tree Trimming Kaylee stamp set. The ornaments are colored with copics. Unfortunately I can not share the colors like I usually do because I forgot to write them down :)
Now let me show you what I did to keep the card closed.

I created a buckle closure which I hid behind the image panel so you do not see it when the card is closed. It worked really well at keeping the card closed :)

Love letter

Happy Monday my crafty friends!

Have you every colored a bunch of images at one time, set them aside to use on a project and then forgot about them?

I do that a lot! I recently came across this SOG image I had colored over a month ago...

This gal is Love Letter Kaylee. I thought it would fun to add a little envelop with a letter sticking out to the design of the card. For the envelop, I dug out my SU mini envelop template and used spellbinders scalloped tag and labels 23 for the sentiment I tucked inside. 

The paper are MME - Lime Twist Fly a Kite.

Copics I used to color Kaylee are - R32, 35, 37, 37, 39/BG10, 11, 13, 18/E000, 00, 35, 40, 41/Y23/YR23.

This is Sweet Thinkin' Mae by Some Odd Girl. I colored her with copics - RV55, RV63, RV66/B0000, B000, B01/E000. E00/E30, E31, E33, E34, E25, E27, E42/COO, CO.
The sentiment was included with Mae.
The pattern Papers are MME Lime Twist - Happy Go Lucky.

Do any of you layout all the pieces and layers of your card before you glue them down? I do that to make sure I like what I have designed and can swap things out if I need to. Well with this card I had a completely different design layout and when I went to glue the layers down I glued them in the wrong order...oops! It's not what I wanted but I think it works :o)

Bright colored birthday

Happy Friday my friends!!
On Monday in the US we will celebrate Labor Day which means I get a 3 day weekend!! Woo Hoo!! Even if I just sit around all weekend on my behind, I would be happy because I have 3 days off of work :-D

This is Balloon Kaylee by Some Odd Girl. I love the SOG images and was thrilled when they came out with clear stamps.
Kaylee is colored with copics - Y11, Y13, Y15/R01, R02, R05/E000, E00/E23, E25, E31, E33/E70, E71, E74, E77/G12.
The sentiment is part of the Balloon Kaylee stamp set and is cut out using the top of spellbinders labels 5. Does it look like a tab?

Hi!

I've only been back to work for one day after a 4 days off and I am more than ready for the weekend!! Anyone else feel that way?
I seem to be stuck in a birthday card rut as that is what I have been making the most of lately.

The image is a digi stamp called Big Pressie Tia by Some Odd Girl. I colored her with copics R02, R05, R08, R11, R20, YR15, YR16, YR23, G12, G40, Y23, E000, E00, E35, BG10, BG11, and C00.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and is called Treasured Moment Tickets. I love this stamp set!

The pattern papers are MME - Lime Twist Fly a Kite. My card layout is not what I was going for. I had already cut the papers then realized that my image panel was bigger than I had planned and I wasn't about to waste my precious MME papers so I used the cut papers and this is what I ended up with. I am not sure how I feel about it though. It's a bit different isn't it?

I am submitting this card to the Some Odd Girl - Bright and Blinding challenge. I know it's not blinding bright but I did you use some bright colors so hopefully my card won't be tossed out ;o)

I have been eyeing the digi stamps from Some Odd Girl for quite some time. I finally gave in and bought a few. Now along with the digi stamps they have begun release their image in clear stamps.
This cutie is Smell the Flowers Tia. She comes as a digi stamp and a clear stamp. I colored her with copics- E000, E00/E25, E31, E50/BG10, BG11, r24, R27, RV11, R81, R83, R85, RV11, RV32, RV34, Y08, G20, G21, G24, G40, C4, C6, C7.
Instead of pattern paper, I used my sizzix finial press embossing folder to give the card some pattern.
The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Pressed Flowers Stamp set.
