Stamp TV CSS Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to a color combination challenge blog hop hosted by members of the Gina K Design CSS Alumni team.
If you came by the way of the very talented Miejse you are right on track. If you just popped in for a visit, I am glad you stopped by and invite you to check out the blog hop from the beginning right here!
As I mentioned this month we have a color combination challenge and I had the opportunity to pick the colors that the girls were to use for their projects. I went with fall colors, Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Asparagus and Sweet Corn plus neutral colors (white, ivory, black, and brown) could also be used.
Along with the color challenge, we are also featuring hand drawn stamp sets designed by Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber
I made two cards to share with you tonight. The first card uses sets from both Melanie and Theresa.

The jar is from Buds and Vases, the sunflowers and sentiment are from Autumn Beauty and the grass stamped in the jar is from Hang In There. The sunflowers are colored with copics - YR20, 21, 23, 27/Y21/G40, 43, 82, 85/E25, 27/B0000, 000.
I added stickles to the petals on the sunflowers for a bit of sparkle.
The papers I used are Gina K's Pure Luxury Pumpkin Spice, Sweet Corn and Dark Chocolate.

I grabbed my brayer, post-it notes and sponges to create my next card.

All the images and sentiment are from the Wild About You stamp set.
I used the brayer to add the sky and ground, then added in the hills with torn post-it notes and sponges.
The giraffe was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock, colored with copics and cut out. I wanted to have the grass around the giraffe's feet in the scene. To do that I cleaned the stamps, covered all but the giraffe's feet and grass with a post it note, inked the feet and grass and removed to post-it note before stamping.
The papers I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Fresh Asparagus and Black Onyx.

Now make sure as you hop along you leave a comment on each designer's blog because on Tuesday morning (September 25), we will randomly choose two comments from all the blogs and two lucky individuals will receive a Gina K. Designs Stamps set each (the winners will receive either a set designed by Melanie Muenchinger or Theresa Momber).

Now I am going to send you on your way to Tera's blog to see her fabulous creation!
Enjoy the rest of the hop!

If you came from Miesje's awesome blog, you are right on track.  If not, please head over to Stamp TV to start at the beginning so you do not miss any of the wonderful creations the girls have made to share with all of us.

This month Melissa Cash provided us with a great sketch to follow while creating out projects.
Here is my take on the sketch. This time I was not a rebel and pretty much kept with the sketch :)

I used the Bold Flowers Stamp and the kissing technique for the top square panel. The sentiment is from Pleasant Plurals. I added a bit of stitching around a couple of the layers and finished off the card with pearls.
Now before I send you on your way to fabulous Tera's blog to see what she has to share with us, I want to remind you to leave a comment on each designer's blog as you hop along. This month Melissa provided us with this fun sketch for our inspiration.

I decided it would be fun to flip the sketch....so that's what I did ;D

This fashionable lady is from the Sew Pretty stamp set. I paper pieced her dress and apron with the same pattern papers I used on the card which is Cosmo Crickets Material Girl. She reminds me so much of June Clever so I could not resist adding pearls for her bracelet, necklace and earring.

Gina K Designs CSS Alumni Hop

Hi and welcome to the March CSS Alumni bloghop!
If you came to my blog by the way of the very talented Miesje's blog, you are right on track. If not, I hope you will start at the beginning of the hop HERE so you can enjoy some fabulous creations by my talented CSS friends.

For this month we were given a color challenge to use for our creations. These are the colors -
Aren't they great?!
I usually make some type of treat holder for Abbi to pass out to her classmate before their Easter break. Since that is approaching fast I decided to use these colors and make an Easter basket.
The basket is made using Sizzix Big Scalloped Envelope. I cut out 4 of the envelopes and attached them together to form the box. The handle is an EK Border Punch. I threaded ribbon through the lattice to make it a little sturdier. The blue strip around the box was embossed with Cuttlebug's Dots EF.
The little chicks and eggs are from the Basket Blessing stamp set as is the sentiment. I colored the chicks and eggs with copics. I ended up using quite a few colors on that little image and listed the colors below in the supply list.

Basket Supplies:
Stamps: Gina K Designs - Basket Blessings
Paper: Gina K Pure Luxury - Lemon Drop, Green Apple, Turquoise Sea
Ink: Memento, Copics - Y000,00,11,13,35, 38/YG61,63,91,93/B000,00/BG53,57/G00/E31/W00,0,1
Other: Cuttlebug EF, Ribbon, Sizzex Big Scallop Envelope, EK Border Punch, Glitter Pen, Stickles, Crystal Lacquer, Spellinders - Circles, Big Scalloped Circles, Lacey Pennants.

As you are hoping along, make sure to leave a comment on all of the designer's blogs because on Tuesday morning (March 20th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all of the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K Designs Stamps!

GKD CSS Alumni hop

Hi and welcome to the Gina K CSS Alumni November blog hop!!!

You should have come by the way of the Miesje's fabulous blog. If you just stopped by to visit, I encourage you to start at the beginning of the hop here. These talented girls have some gorgeous eye candy to share tonight!

Carolina picked out this festive picture as our inspiration piece for creating our projects.
A few things I noticed right away in the photo was the colors and the circle shapes. The next was some of the decorations on the boxes such as the bows, the simple sentiments and the poinsettia.
My first card uses the pink and blue colors.
I used the tree from the Spirit of Christmas stamp set. I colored right on the stamp with memento markers to get the branches green and the trunk brown. I decorate it with pink rhinestones and a sparkling star. I finished off the card with a big pink bow.

For my next card I used circles and some of the darker colors from the picture.
I used pattern papers and a border die that went with my circle theme. The poinsettia is from A Year of Flowers and was colored with copics, E40, E41, E42, G82, G85, G94 and YR20. I covered the petals with crystal stickles and the leaves with rock candy stickles. In the center are three pearls. I finished off the card with a couple of simple sentiments and a bow.

Make sure to leave a comment each of the blogs in the hop because on Tuesday morning (November 22), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and the prize will be a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

After you are done hopping please stop back at Stamp TV and if you are inspired, we would love for you to join us by creating a project using the inspiration photo.

Hi and welcome to my blog!
The Gina K CSS Alumni girls have put together another blog hop just for you! If you came from Vicki's awesome blog, you are right on track. If you just happened by, I encourage you to start at the beginning of the hop right here.

Tonight we are getting wordy!! Gina K. Designs is known for including some of the best quotes and sentiments in their sets so we wanted to highlight some of these fabulous quote by using them our main focal point.
My brother's twins graduated this year and in Gina K's Inside and Out stamp set there is a quote that I felt was perfect for a graduation card.
My first card is for my nephew Tyler.

I made this card into a more masculine card by using the twine and hardware for my embellishments. The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket's Wanted pack.

Now for my niece Katie I went with a more feminine touch.

I still used the same quote from the Inside and Out set but went with ribbon, lace and pearls for my embellishments. The patten papers on Katie's card are from Basic Grey's Hopscotch pack.

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (June 28th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get to choose a free stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

Gina K CSS Inspiration Hop

Hiya!!

Tonight the Gina K CSS Alumni gals have put together another blog hop for you. If you came from the talented Miesje Flach's blog you are right on track! If not, please go to Stamp TV and start at the beginning so you do not miss any of the fabulous projects the gals have created for you!

The challenge is to create a card or project based on this inspiration piece from Southern Living provided by Miesje:
When I looked at this photo I knew right away that I wanted to make a Valentine's Day treat holder for Abbi so that is what I did!

I found a tutorial on SCS called Santa's drawer's that I used as a starting point for my treat holder. You can find the tutorial here.

Bare with me as I have a few photos of my finished treat holder so you get the full effect of my Valentine Drawers! *wink*!

The original tutorial had two smaller drawers on top but I wanted it to look more like the dresser in the picture so I made two of the larger ones. All the papers I used are from my 12x12 stash of CS and DP.

I decorated my drawers with images from Gina K's Heartily Yours Stamp set.

Here is a view from the top. The back of the dresser is made with Heart Nestabilities. I added a lace runner across the top of the dresser and made a little Valentine's to sit on top of it.

Here is a side view so you can see how I attached to lava lamp to the dresser and the sentiment banner.
Here is a picture with the drawers open. The knobs on the drawers are Tim Holtz's Idea-ology Hitch Fasteners.
Now I just have to figure what Valentine treats I want to fill those drawers up with!
Now I am going to send you on your way to the uber talented Sue Morris.
Thank you so much for hopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!
