CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp TV's CSS Alumni May blog hop!
If you came by the way of Miesje’s fabulous blog you are right on track. If not, please head over to Stamp TV to start at the beginning so you do not miss any of the wonderful creations the girls have made to share with all of us.
This month Brenda provided us with this fabulous photo to use as our inspiration when creating our projects.
I noticed that beautiful quilt right away and then the flowers on the pillow and used those two things as inspiration for my card.

The vase of flowers is from Purr-fectly Delightful and is colored with copics – R02, 05, 08/E23, 25, 27, 29, 40, 41/BG10, 11/YG21, 23, 25/C00, 0, 1/W00, 0.
I added a bit of stickles to the flower petals and centers. The sentiment is from Fanciful Tags.
I tried to create a quilt look for my background by embossing the pattern paper, adding stitching along the edges and inking around the edges with distressed ink.  I finished it off with lace and pearl flourishes.
Now before I send you on your way to the see what gorgeous creation Tera has to share, I want to remind you to leave a comment on each designer's blog as you hop along. On Tuesday morning (May 15), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that lucky person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Think Pink

Hi!!
I am a happy girl today!
I was a Design Team Favourite again this week for Make It Monday. Thank you so much Kerrie for picking my Just a Note card!!

I also would like to thank Leslie from the Come and Get It Challenge Blog for selecting my Back to School card as a top pick.

As you can see I used two other colors with my many shades of pinks. I just couldn't do my flowers with out green leaves and stems! lol!
The flowers are from a 3 different stamps sets by Gina K Designs - Buds & Vases, Friendship Garden, and Purr-fectly Delightful. I stamped the flowers in the frame from Inspiration Mosaic which is also Gina K Designs. The flowers are colored with Copics - YG03, YG25/RV10, RV11, RV13, RV42/R00, R01, R11, R20, R21, R22, R30, R32/T3, T5, T6, T7/C00.
The sentiment is also from the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set and is matted on Spellbinders Labels 17. The flourishes are the new Spellbinders Floral Flourishes.
I added some stickles to the flowers and distressed stickles to the leaves. You can see a bit of the sparkle on the flowers. I finished off the card with ribbon, lace and Wild Orchid Roses.

I am entering this in the following challenges -
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Heart Song Inspirations - Glitter and/or chipboard (I used Stickles)
iCopic - High Contract Colors (I used several shades of pink)

Hello and welcome to our GKD CSS Alumni May blog hop!
If you came from the ubber talented Tera Fujan, you are right on track. If not, please head on over to Stamp TV to start at the beginning. The girls have some awesome cards they created just for you and I would not want you to miss a single one!

Tonight we are getting sketchy! Melissa provided us with this fabulous sketch to use for our projects. I LOVE shaped cards so this sketch was right up my alley!

The base of my card was made with the Grand Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestibilities. The pattern papers are a combination of Basic Grey's Olivia and Hopscotch papers.

The image is from Gina K's Purr-fectly Delightful. I colored the daisies with copics - ROOO, R01, R20, G21, G24, G85, E23, E25, B0000, B000 and B00. I added stickles to the petals for some sparkle and a thick coat of crystal lacquer to the vase and centers of the daisies. I finished off my card with some lace and pearls.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (May 17th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

Violet Daisies

Happy Friday!!!

Anyone else glad it's Friday besides me? It's been a long busy week and I am ready for the weekend to begin!!

Last night was Abbi's Christmas program at school. The place was packed to the point of the parents having to sit on the floor of the gymnasium which would have been okay except for the fact that it was wet with the slushy snow people tracked in on their shoes! Other than my wet butt, the program was excellent!!

Today I have a card that was inspired by Stamp TV Spotlight Color Challenge last week. The colors were Fresh Asparagus, Vibrant Violet and White. I was able to get this card submitted for the challenge with a couple hours to spare! Today there is a new color challenge so be sure to check that one out too - K?
The daisies are from Theresa's Purrr-fectly Delightful stamp set and the sentiment treatment is from her new The Giving Tree stamp set.
The daisies were colored with Copics BV02, BV04, BV08/E74, E77, E79/G82, G85, BG96. I used my Sakura Glitter Pen and Niji Waterbrush to watercolor over the daisies to add some sparkle to them. I like doing this technique because it does not alter the colors which I think happens if you just use the glitter pen by itself.
I used a combination of the Spellbinder Labels, 7 & 17 to be exact, for the daisies.
The white paper is embossed with Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots embossing folder and layered on top of the cardbase which is the Vibrant Violet.

Thanks for stopping by today! Stop back tomorrow so check out another one of my Christmas cards I made last weekend using PTI's 2010 Holiday Tags.

Have a fabulous rest of your day!!

Summer or maybe fall daisies

Hello!

I have a quick post for you this morning before I head off work.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Purrr-fectly Delightful
Ink: Copics, SU, Memento
Paper: Gina K - Grass Green, Sweet Mango, White pl
SU - Crushed Curry
Other: Oval Nestibilities, Labels 10, Ribbon, Pearls
Finial Press ef, EK Border Punch, Crystal Lacquer, Stickles

Those of you that hang out on Stamp TV may recognize this card. I made a bit ago for one of the August release party challenges. It was a color challenge and I know we had a few colors to choose from but do not remember exactly which ones they were other than the ones I used for the card which are green, yellow and orange.
The card is a 5x5 square card. I really like this size for cards and make quite a few of them.
The daisy flower image is from Gina K's Purrr-fectly Delightful and was colored with copics E57, E59, YR04, YR20, YR38, BG10, BG11, BG32, N0, N1, YG17, and YG25. I added some stickles to the petal and center of the daisies for some sparkle and covered the vase with a thick coat of Crystal Lacquer. The image was cut out with Spellbinder's Labels 10 and before I removed it from the die I sponged Summer Sun ink around the image.
The background was embossed with Sizzex Finial Press embossing folder.

Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you have a fabulous day!
