I am thankful

Hi!
I am a day behind posting about The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. It's been one of those weeks let me ya!
Our challenge this week is "What we are Thankful for".
I know I have so much to be thankful for and right up there at the top is you, my awesome followers and readers of my blog!! THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit, leaving comments and just supporting my blog! I cherish each and everyone of you.
But I am sure like many of you, what I am most thankful for is my family which inspired me to make a scrapbook page as my sample for the challenge.

The page is 12 x12. All the papers are SU. The sentiments are from Gina K's Sweetest Memories and Lean on Me stamp sets. The sunflowers are from PTI's Round and Round stamp set. The doilies in the corners are Cheery Lynn Dies. I love that I can cut out my own doilies with paper that matches my projects.

It's been a long time since I made a scrapbook page so I really enjoyed making this one and already have ideas for a couple more.

Hiya!!

I have been trying to use up some of my old SU scrappin' kits. I have a ton and several have hardly been used! I said it before and this just confirms it that I hoard paper...lots and lots of paper! Pattern paper is definitely one my weaknesses. A gal can never have too much pattern paper right? *wink*!

Anywho, I sat down and used some of the papers and sticker from the scrappin' kits to make a few scrapbook pages. I was surprised how quickly some of them went together. My goal is to be able to make a few calendars with them for Christmas gifts for family members.
I have a lot of pictures that I set aside quite a while ago with the best intentions of using them on scrapbook pages. Well some of them are now a few years old but I am using some of those pictures on the pages and tossing in a few newer ones too.



I do not remember the name of the scrappin' kit that I used for this page but it has a family/home theme to it.

Abbi was probably 5-6 when she had her first motorcycle ride and she loved it...unlike Mom...I am not a fan of of them at all! They scare me! lol!

Christmas Memories

Hello!

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you. I made this page shortly after Christmas. These pictures of my dh and daughters were taken over the Christmas Holiday.
The DP is SU as is the blue bayou and Ridinghood Red. The rest is Gina's Chocolate Kiss, Fresh Asparagus and White pl.
The pictures are cut out using nestibilities labels 8. The sentiments are from Gina's Sweetest Memories and are cut out using Spellbinders Fancy tags and labels 8.
I finished off the page with prima flowers and ribbon. Remember you can get a closer look by clicking on the picture.

Calendar Bits, Pieces and Grid Preview

Hello!!
Tonight I am so excited to be previewing a new stamp set called Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid, illustrated by Tami Mayberry. This set is huge!! Yes, I said huge and can be used for just about any project you can think of.
When I got first glimpse of this set I knew right away what I wanted to make with it. In the past I have made my MIL a desk calendar using the 6x6 desk calendar from SU for a Christmas present each year. She did not get one last year because SU does not carry them anymore...at least that I know of and she was a bit disappointed.
I came up with my own desk calendar that still has room to display the 6x6 scrapbook pages so she can add them to her scrapbook. I started out with two 8x8 squares of chipboard and covered them with SU DSP. I tried to use a color palette that would incorporate all seasons so I used Bashful Blue, Riding hood Red, So Saffron, and Tangerine Tango. I attached the two pieces of chipboard together with gold hinges and brads.

I stamped the calendar grid 12 times on white pl paper with tuxedo black ink and added the dates and months to each before trimming them down to size. I punched holes in them and attached them to the chipboard with larger brads. I added a canopy if you will, to cover the top part of the calendar using a border bunch and some pearls in between the scallops. I finished off this side with some punched out flowers and ribbon.

For the scrapbook page side, I created a very simple mat to place the scrapbook pages on. I did not want to layer all the pages on here because I did not want the bulk and wasn't sure it would look very good so I added a library clip on the top of the mat and on the bottom to hold the scrapbook page.

For this scrapbook page I used some of the stamps from Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid set. The sentiment 'Happy Winter Day' is from the set as is the frame around it. See how perfect it fits in Spellbinder's Labels 3 die? Now since I only wanted one scrapbook page at a time on the front I had think a bit as to what I was going to do with the other pages waiting to be displayed. This is what I came up with...

I created a pocket on each side of the back of the calendar using cardstock and a page protector to hold the rest of the scrapbook pages. I am just showing two of the pages but will share the rest on a later post.

On these two pages, I used what I am calling the journaling lines from the Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid set. I usually do not add journaling to my pages mainly because I can not write in a straight line and I am too lazy to draw my lines so this little stamp is gonna be well loved by me for my pages!
The other stamp sets I used on these pages are Gina K's Best Fishes and Just Keep Swimming.

All the images were colored with copics and cut out. I added some silver cord and antique linen Distressed Stickles.

Did everyone have a great start to the week?

Today's post will be a short one. It's a scrapbook page. I usually do not make 12x12 scrapbook pages. I made this for another challenge from Gina K's release party last Thursday. I actually used this page for two of the challenges from the party.

The first challenge was to create a page using a specific layout. The other challenge was to use at least three different stamp sets. This basically the layout and the three stamp sets I used were A year of flowers, say it with flowers and happy harvest.
