Money in the box

Hi!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
Last week I shared an explosion box that I made to hold a gift card. Today I would like to share another box I made to hold money. I made this one for my DD. I have learned that you give this girl money as a gift or take her shopping to pick out her own presents which is much easier for me!

I made this box a little different from the gift card box.

I used Chocolate textured cs, Tangerine cs, Kiwi cs and SU's Snow Days dp. The box ends up being a 3 1/2 in square.

I did not take a picture of the top but I made a smaller paper bow for it and added a couple of snowflakes. The from side of the box is decorated with layered snowflakes and the tag.

This is the inside. I did not cut the corners off of this box. Instead I cut up to the first score line on the inside of each of the four corners. When the box is folded up, there will be 1 side that overlaps to another side so when you look at the box from the top, it looks like there is two layers to the box.

Each of the outer squares is decorated with a layered snowflake and a present. The snow flakes are punched from fuzzy white paper and the little snowflake is punch from the dp. The present are scalloped squares cut with the smalled scalloped square from the large classic nestibility set. A gold thread is tied around the middle of the present and a gold ribbon bow added on top.

The center square is the money tree with presents. The presents are tiny boxes made from the cs and dp with gold thread wrapped around them and tied with a bow on top.

The tree was not hard to make at all! I folded the money to look something like a tree then used chocolate cs to make a stand for it. The stand is very similar to the one used for the gift card box only this one is long enough to hold the tree up. I did not want to glue the tree to the stand so I slid the stand in between the folds of the tree. I decorated the tree with gold cord and little sparkly gold circle stickers.

Here is a close up picture of the tree, presents and the outside squares with the present and snowflake decor.

I had so much fun making these and they are actually pretty easy. I am going to try and make a valentine's box next.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
