Oldies but Goodies blog hop

Good morning and welcome to the Designing Divas Oldies but Goodies blog hop!!!

If you came by the way of Jessica Fick, you are right on track! If you just stopped by and would like to start at the beginning of the hop you can start here at Brenda Turner's blog.

If you were not able to hop with us last month and are wondering what an Oldies but Goodies blog hop is...The 'Oldies but Goodies' hop is to create a card, scrapbook page or 3D item using any of your stamps/supplies that are at least 6 months old.

I think most (if not all) of us... have items we have bought and never used, or used very little and then filed it away for a later date.

I know I have a lot of those items so this have been fun for me to pull them out and give them some love.

I pulled out one of my Stampavie stamps that I purchased earlier last year and had not inked it up yet. The stamp is called Skateboard Dude.

When I picked this image I could picture this lil' dude on his skateboard flying off of a ramp so I tried to create that picture in my card.

I started out by coloring my lil' dude with copics, E000, E00, E93/E25, E31, E33/C5, C6, C7, C8, YG03, YG05, YG17/E42, E43, E42/BG72, BG75, BG78/E43, E44, E47, BG72. I cut him out and set him aside.

Next I created the background by first brayering in the sky with SU inks, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, and Blue Bayou. The ground was using SU Going Gray and Basic Gray. I used post-it notes to frame up the ramp and sponged it in using SU Basic Black ink. The grass was cut out from green felt using the MFT Fresh Cut Grass die-namic die. With the background done, I added my lil' dude to the picture.

The pattern papers are Basic Greys Oliver and the cardstock is SU's Sahara Sand and Blue Bayou. I did not add a lot of embellishments because I wanted to keep the focus on the image and background I created.

It's my nephew's birthday next week and this lil' skateboarding dude reminds me of him so this will be his birthday card.

I am also submitting this card to the following challenges: 7 Kids College Fund - Square Card, Paper Pretties - Kids Card and Belli Challenge - Felt or Fabric

Now I am going to send you on your way to visit Vicki Patranc to see what she has made using her Oldies but Goodies!

Enjoy the rest of the hop!!
