Hello!
How about a card with some summer feel to it? Brighter colors always remind me of summer, how about you?
Again, I used all scrap paper for this card. The dp is a mixture of SU and October Afternoon and the stamps I used are from Gina K's Hope Grows and Tropical Flowers.
I started out by inking the butterfly with versamark ink then with Melon Mambo ink before stamping it on Ivory pl paper. Next I heat embossed with Bridal Embossing Powder. I stamped another butterfly using the same process on another piece of Ivory pl paper and set this one aside. I also stamped the butterfly on a post-it note to use as a mask while I sponged ink around the butterfly. I started out sponging Pumpkin Pie all the way around the masked butterfly then sponged Melon Mambo along the sides and top. I sponged Old Olive and Memento's New Sprout along the bottom.
I decided that the ink was too dark closest to the butterfly so I took my clear sakura glitter pen and drew a small outline around the butterfly. Then I took my niji waterbrush and lightly spread the glitter out into the colors which softened the colors and gave it a bit of a water colored look.
Now that I was happy with the background, I stamped a leaf branch from Tropical Flowers along the bottom. I stamped a flower from Hope Grows, colored it with copics then popped it up onto of the leaf branches. To finish the scene I took the butterfly that I set aside and cut out half of it, added glue just along the center part and attached it to the butterfly in the scene to give it some dimension.
I have a question for all of you...would it be helpful if I showed step by step photo's when I make a card with a scene or can you follow me when I just explain what I did in words?
Thanks for visiting my blog, I really appreciate it and hope you stop back soon!

Beautiful card!
Step by step photos sound like a lot of work for you. I would appreciate it on a very detailed or difficult technique, but don't think it is necessary for every posting.
Enjoy the long weekend.
