Quilted sunset

Hello!

Today I have a card to share that I was going to submit for the Illustrator Challenge and the Design Team Member Search Gina was having last weekend. The children's book that inspired me to make the card was Goodnight Moon. I chose this book because when my youngest daughter was born it was given to us by the hospital auxiliary and my husband read it to her that very night she was born. It is one of her favorite books and mine.
I ended up not submitting the card because I was not happy with how it turned out. You know how that goes right? You have it all planned out and it doesn't turn out how you intended it to. I hate it when that happens don't you?!

anywho...let me share some of the details of the card...
The deer is from the Sending Sunshine stamp set. I stamped the little guy inside the circle from Gina's Spring Mix stamp set on white pl paper with Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with copics. I recolored with my handy versamarker and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut the circle out with a circle nestibility and before removing from the diecut, I sponged in the background. The inks I used for the background are Night of Navy, Marigold Morning, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black.
On the card base I created a quilt with scraps of SU pattern paper and added stitching around each triangle to give more of a quilt feel. The papers I used for the card are Only Orange and Wild Wasabi.

I hope you have a wonderful day and will stop back to visit again real soon!

Oh Sharri, you should have submitted this card. The 'little guy' in the moonlight looks so cute and I love the 'quilting.' Don't be such a tough critic with your beautiful work.

Sharri,
Are you kidding! I would kill to have your talent :) you should have put it in you know that saying you can't win if you don't play. Your work is exceptional, but I do hear what you are saying about us being our own worst critic:)
