First Christmas Preview

Good evening!

OMG! Weren't the last nights previews for Melanie's Festive Frames awesome?!!!
Tonight I am so excited to be joining in the previews for Asela Hopkins First Christmas stamp set.

I just adore the images Asela included in the First Christmas. I especially love this little teddybear! Isn't that hat and scarf perfect for paper piecing? I could see using this little guy for many different occasion and not just for Christmas.

I stamped this little guy and the ornament on white pure luxury paper, colored them with copics, paper pieced the hat and scarf, cut 'em out and tried to make it look like he was holding the ornament. The papers are Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses, Fresh Asparagus and a red from my scraps. The layered flowers behind the teddybear are spellbinders blossoms 2. I did add glitter around the edge and pom pom of the hat but it does not look like it all in the picture.

My next card uses the ornaments in the set.
I was in a paper piecing mood so I also paper pieced these ornaments. I think they would like great used with the polished stone technique and hope to be able to make a card with it before Thursday night so I can show you at the release party.

The foliage behind the ornaments are from Gina K's Winter Foliage stamp set and was stamped on White Pure Luxury paper with Always Artichoke ink and cut out with spellbinders labels 9. The ornaments are hanging from silver cord. The sentiment is stamped in real red ink on a fancy labels. I added stitching around the edges and some silver pearls and punched branches for embellies.

For even more inspiration, please visit the Illustrators of the stamp sets featured tonight:

Our Release party will be held Thursday night over on SCS in GinaK's Forum from 7-10 pm CST. We'd love to have you join in the fun! I have several more samples to share using all the new stamp sets and there will be contest questions, challenges, chatter, and lots more samples from our designers throughout the party! See you then!
Hugs,
Sharri

Beautiful cards! I like how you used the blossom mat for the teddy bear in the first card, and adding the tree boughs as a frame within the Nestie of the second card gives a soft touch...a very nice detail. Thanks for sharing.
