Ring of Leaves

Happy Labor Day!

It was a beautiful day here. How was your day?
The weather was so perfect we decided to go for a bike ride on a local bike trail. It's been a while since we have done that as a family and we all had a great time.

I have a card to share today that I made using another new stamp set that Gina K release in August. It is called A Year of Leaves. After I got it all put together I am a bit unhappy with it because the leaves blend into the dp and I wanted them to really stand out.
The leaves are aluminum foil. I took a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil, glued it to a piece of cardstock, stamped several leave images with stazon then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. To give them color I did the polish stone technique using Ranger Alcohol inks. After I cut the leaves out, I peeled the aluminum off the cs. The leaves looked really cool until I glued them on the dp.
The dp is Basic Greys Mellow and the cs is Gina K's White Pure Luxury, Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Kiss.
Since I was unhappy with the results of the card but really loved the look of the leaves, I am going to make some more of the aluminum leaves to used on a different card. This time I will remember to not have such busy dp in the background.

Have a wonderful rest of your evening and thank you for visiting my blog!

Hugs,
Sharri

Your leaves are beautiful Sharri. They are a little hard to see, but what a cool idea. Hope you post another card with some more of the leaves.
