Sew long '08 and '09 inspiration

Hi!
Is everyone having a great weekend?
I woke up this morning to a nice, shiny, icy view out my window. We got freezing rain...woo hoo, love these Wisconsin winter days, not!!
I am so ready for warmer weather which is probably why I chose to use the Flowers for Daisy stamp set and spring like colors for cs and dp.
I am sharing two cards today. Both have the same image, sentiment and basic layout.

The first card colors are Pink Pirouette cs, Sahara Sand cs and Parisan Summer dp.
I colored the daisy with copic markers and used the rectangle nesties for all the matting and spellbinder's double ended label for the sentiment. When I was trying to double mat the image, I found out I really need the other two rectangle nesties to really get a good looking double mat. They are now on my ever growing wish list, hehehe...
In the picture it's hard to see that there is an angled piece of DP going from the bottom left to the right top of the card.
If I had to do it over I would have swapped the angled piece of dp with the dp in the smaller rectangle below the matted image. I think it would have made the angled piece stand out more.
I attached the sentiment with organdy light pink ribbon and added self-adhesive pearls to cover the holes in the label and also on each corner.

The second card is made pretty much the same way only using So Saffron and Bravo Burgundy cs. (The dp is also Parisan Summer).
The other thing I did different was to dust off my sewing machine and sew around the edges of the dp.
I also left off the rhinestones. They really did not look right with the stitching.
I can't tell you how long it has been since I had my sewing machine out of the closet, but it must have been quite a while ago because I now have a pile of mending that has mysteriously appeared next the machine...lol! Can you guess what I will be doing this evening?!
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and thanks for visiting with me today!
