Did any of you participate in Jessica's blog candy challenge? Her challenge was to heat emboss on vellum. The challenge was up January 1st - I hope you were able to play along!
I used SU's Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. and started out making the background for the card. I stamped the cupcake image on the vellum a few times at different angles then used Bridal embossing tinsel and the heat tool. It is hard to see but the bridal embossing tinsel has sparkle to it. I stamped the cupcake again on BG Urban Praire dp and also on pretty in pink cs then cut out the tops and liners of the cupcakes and glued them to the back of the vellum. I used my quickie glue pen and only put glue where I knew it would not be seen easily, the lines on the of the cupcake liner and in the sprinkles on the frosting. I added glitter on top of the vellum to the sprinkles and the flame of the candle.
I put a piece of teal colored DCWV textured cs to help make the cupcakes visible. The card base is soft sky cs.
The focal image was stamped in mementos black tuxedo ink and heat embossed with the bridal tinsel. The image does not look black, but has a silvery gray sparkly look to it. It look kinda cool irl. I colored the cupcake stand and cherries with copics and paper pieced the little cupcake liners again using Urban Prairie dp. The frosting is a combo of glitter and peach crystal lacquer. I used the oval nesties to cut out the image and the mat which is also Urban Prairie dp.
The border around the card is punched with MS Arch Lattice border punch.
For the corners I used the Fancy photo corner punch and layer the pretty in pink of the dp, added a sparkly white brad and that's was it.
To be honest, after I added the lattice border around the card, I wish I had not but could not remove it without tearing up the vellum and I was not about to cut out the paper pieced cupcakes again! lol!
Have a awesome weekend and thanks for visiting!
