Dreamy bear

Happy Monday!
It is COLD here in Wisconsin. I woke up this morning to a temperature of 0, yes zero, and a wind chill of -22. I so wanted to crawl back in my nice warm bed!

Today's card is one I made for the Stamper's Dream Dreamy challenge, which you can find here.
I happened to come across challenge by reading Carolyn King's blog. I was actually intrigued by this challenge and wanted to give it a try.
Here are the details of the challenge:
December's weather can be gray and gloomy, so amp it up with a bit of color and bling. Most of the card needs to be gray/black with a hint of any color and some sparkle. You can also include white.

So here is the card...I used basic and going gray cs, silver embossing powder, sakura glitter pen, hazy grey fun flock, gray ribbon and red is my splash of color. For the red I used red glitter, red heart eyelets and red DMC thread.
I used the second largest square in the nestibilities square set to make the square card.I used the largest scalloped square from the scalloped nestibilities scalloped square set to add to the back of the card.
I used the Metallic rub-on on paste around the edges fo all the cs.

For the bear, I stamped with versamark, heat embossed with silver embossing powder then used a quickie glue pen to add the fun flock to the bear. It does not stand out very well in the picture but does irl. I also used the quickie glue pen to add the red glitter to the dots on the scarf. I wanted the scarf to stand out more so I colored around the glitter dots with the sakura glitter pen. I also colored with the glitter pen on the nose, mouth, eye and ears of the bear.

After I added the eyelets and gray satin ribbon, I thought the card needed something else because it looked rather dreary to me, so I tied some of the red thread under the knot on the ribbon.

The challenge goes until Midnight, Wednesday December 17th.
This was a challenging challenge for me as I usually do not use grays as the main color on my projects.
If you play along, I would love to see what you came up with for the challenge.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
