Christmas Tag

Good afternoon!

Here is southern Wisconsin we are gearing up for a couple more snowstorms, one tonight and another this weekend. I am planning on spending a lot of the weekend in my little crafting corner. Maybe I can actually get at least one of my Christmas presents done! I just can not believe Christmas is less than 1 week away! Help!!!

Today I am sharing a project I made for a challenge on PCP with the Basic Grey group. You can find the challenge find here.
The challenge was to make a Christmas tag using Basic Grey paper. I absolutely love BG paper and hate to throw any scraps away so I challenge myself to use all of the scraps. That is what I used for the tag, scraps from the BG Wassail 6x6 pad.

This was very easy to put together, even for me! (I tend to procrastinate a bit...hehehe!)
I started out with a piece of chipboard and cut a rectangle from it. I know the tag is 3 inches wide but I did not measure for the height. After I had the shape of the tag, I cut the pieces of bg to fit on the chipboard and used tombow instead of a tape runner because I have had problems where the runners do not hold the paper on very well.

I used the SU Top Note die for the green piece of bg that was embossed with the snow flake embossing folder. The sentiment is stamped on the smalled tag for the nestibilities tag set and the snowflakes are punch using the Marvy mega snowflake punch. I punch 3 snowflake with BG paper and 3 using vellum and again used the snowflake embossing folder to add texture to the snowflakes.
I layered the vellum snowflakes over the BG and added a brad to the center. I wanted to use acetate instead of vellum, but I couldn't get the punch through the acetate. Have any of you had problems punching acetate or does anyone have any tips to share?
I covered where the BG papers met with Satin ribbon and used several scraps of fiber for the top of the tag. The fibers are threaded through a hole and I covered the hole with one of the snowflakes.

Keep warm and have a wonderful rest of your day!
Sharri
