Poinsettia Christmas

Good Morning again!

I wanted to share the card I will be using for Jessica's challenge.
I will try to make this a quick post since it is my second one today.

I used the poinsettia from A Year of Flowers, stamped the flowers on watercolor paper with versamark and embossing with gold. I colored them with Twinkling H2O's. The background is the holly embossing folder using the glossy paper. I brayered over that with a green chalk ink, rubbed Metallic gold rub-on over the entire back ground and added red rhinestone so the berries stood out and were not the same green.
There is a little border along the left side and bottom under the poinsettia's which is gold paper and red ribbon. I thought the right side and top left needed a little something else so I added gold bows. Adding the bows made the top right corner looking a bit bare, or at least it did to me...lol! I decided on the SU corner punch using the gold paper and the watercolor paper with the Twinkling H2O's.

Hi!

I was playing around trying to make a card for a GKD challenge. I will not be entering this one in the challenge because I did not use Gina K stamps but thought I would share here on my blog.
The challenge was to make a card using glossy paper, a cuttlebug embossing folder and a brayer.
It's a fun challenge! I have several pieces of embossed glossy paper sitting on my craft table and I can not decide which one to use! lol!

I used my Going Gray ink pad and brayer on the spider web then rubbed Metallic Rub-Ons on the edges of the paper.
The spiders and sentiment are from a retired SU set called Web Wishes.

GKD sketch challenge

Good Morning!

I wanted to share this card last night when I uploaded my GKD color challenge card but my on-line service was really slow. So I will share it this morning.

What do you think of this wild color combo? The colors were inspired by a mat pack of pattern paper from DCWV. I honestly was not sure how the colors would look together. I guess the look ok.
Since the color combo was a bit different I thought I would use a stamp from Gina's Friendship Blooms to distract from the wild combo.

I colored with my prisma pencils, OMS and blending stumps. I have tried to do the cracked glass technique using an off brand product that said when it dried it would have the cracked look. I either put the stuff on wrong or they were story telling...hehehe.
This time I dug around in my embossing powder drawer and found a dusty little bottle of thick embossing powder. I did about three layers of embossing then put it in the freezer for 10 minutes and I was able to make some nice cracks. It's hard to see them in the picture, looks much better irl.

I used the scalloped circle nestibilities for matting the image. I like how it looks like it was double matted but it is just from embossing after I cut the scalloped circle.
I used white grosgrain ribbons and put the ric rak over it. I almost for got the bow - how could I do that when Joanne specifically said that was her new favorite thing! Hehehe!
