The book of Christmas

Good morning!

Today I have another Christmas card to share. This is another one I made during my stamping frenzy this past weekend...it's my second favorite!
I have been wanting to use my Spellbinders Label 7 dies to make a book. Well when I was at the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbooking Convention last month I found the stamp I wanted to use to make the book. This image is from stamp set called Joy to the World by Our Daily Bread.

To make the book, I stamped the image with versamark and heat embossed it using fine detail silver embossing powder. I cut this out with the largest labels 7 die. I used post it notes to mask off the sides of the pages and the image then sponged Pumice Stone distressed ink in the center to create the pages like a book. I also sponged the Pumice Stone ink around the edges of the pages.
I used the same label 7 die to cutout one more piece that I layered underneath the image to give the appearance of more pages to the book. I adhered the two pages together by gluing just the centers together then gently folded the top in and curved the pages to add dimension like a true book. The bottom or cover of the book also uses the largest labels 7 die. Because I wanted this piece to be bigger, I traced the outer edge of the die and cut it out by hand.

Here is a picture so you can see the dimension.
I wanted the book to look like it was sitting on a table so I took a piece of Kraft CS and embossed it with my cuttlebug woodgrain embossing folder then sponged Pumice Stone ink over it to give it a bit of an aged look.

The sentiment is from Gina K's Festive Frames. I wanted the sentiment to look like a bookmark so I cut it out with the long rectangle dies and added a ribbon to the top.

So what do you think? Did I succeed in making it look like a book?

Have a great rest of your day and thanks for visiting me today!
