Birthday Cheers

Hi!
I apologize for not posting very much the past few weeks. Work is still nuts and so is home life, which I am sure everyone has been there and understands. I am hoping at least work slows down soon so as it is really interfering with my crafting. LOL!
I am also trying to get things done around the house before Michelle Zindorf comes to visit in a couple of weeks. She will be here on the 16th to teach her brayering workshops. Since she will be staying with me, I need to get my guest bedroom set up and finish a couple of projects that we had started a while ago. I have a lot to do - anybody want to come and help? Hee hee!

I do have a card to share today. I made this for my niece's birthday. I used Melanie Muenchinger's Sporty Accessories stamp set for it.

The papers are Gina K's Black Onyx and white layering weight pure luxury. the dp is basic Greys BitterSweet. The cheerleader outfit was colored with prisma pencils and OMS. The pom poms were colored with copics. I added glitter to the outfit - I am not happy with the picture because it does not show the sparkle and the colors are also off. My husband played around with the camera and changed some of the settings. I still have not figured out everything he did to it!
Here is a picture of the inside of the card. I picked up a new sissix die from a local craft store called Framed Back, Ornate. Doesn't it look like a smaller version of the Top Note die?

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Hugs,
Sharri!

Up in the clouds

Happy Tuesday!!

Oh my word, is it hot out! We bought a pool over the weekend and in the process of filling it up. Since the weather is suppose to stay hot and humid for the rest of the week it shouldn't take long for the water to warm up to my swimming temperature. Yes, I am a wimp when it comes to swimming in cooler water. lol! Abbi is so anxious to go swimming that she would jump in the pool as it was filling...Brrrr! She is busy right now blowing up all the pool toys in anticipation of swimming tomorrow afternoon. Don't you just love the excitement kids radiate when they are looking forward to something fun?

The card I am sharing today is made from my stash of scrap paper. I still have a few images of Tilda stamped and colored so am trying to make them up into cards. This one is Tilda with lilacs and is another I bought at 7 kids college fund.

Tilda was stamped with Mementos Tuxedo black ink and colored with copics. I added dazzling diamonds to her bow, wings, and the heart on her pants. I added crystal lacquer to the wings, bottom on the tennis shoes and the laces. The hot air balloon is from Gina K's Eclectic Summer stamp set and is also stamped with Mementos and colored with copics. I outlined the balloon with dazzling diamonds and covered the little basket with crystal lacquer.
I found some dp in my stash that reminded me of a cloudy sky and thought it might look different to have Tilda sitting on a cloud with the hot air balloon floating up behind her. She looked a bit funny sitting on the edge of the cloud so I added some ribbon under neath.
The brocade blue was embossed using a sissix textured plate. I used metallic rub-on paste to accent the embossed butterflies.
I have not decorated the inside of the card yet because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it yet.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your evening!

Sunflower Tilda

Good Morning and Happy Father's Day!

I am not sure how we will be spending the day. My husband is sleeping in today and Abbi is having a hard time letting him sleep as she is very anxious to give him the gift she made for him.
I think the weatherman lied to us...it was suppose to be another warm and sunny day but right now it looks very gloomy! If it is rainy, I just might have to spend the day at my craft table. hee hee!

The card I am sharing today is another Tilda image. I bought this one from 7 kids college fund.
This is Tilda with Sunflower. I stamped her with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on layering weight white pure luxury paper and colored her with copics.

The sunflower Tilda is holding is covered with doodlebugs glitter and popped up as are all of the other sunflowers. The dp is SU and if I remember correctly is retired. The CS is Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Gina K's Chocolate Kiss .

Here is the inside of the card. The sentiments are from Gina K's Notes to Mom and Eclectic Summer Saying.
Have a wonderful day and I hope you are able to spend time with the Father's in your life!

A note from Tilda

Hello!

Wow, what a week it has been! To give you an idea, I have been trying to get this post up on my blog since Monday! Tonight I have succeeded!!

I am sharing another card made with a Magnolia stamp. I had purchased some a while back from 7kids college fund and am finally getting around to playing with them. Sad I know! This one is Tilda with a tag. I stamped her with mementos tuxedo black ink and colored her with copics. The for you stamped on the tag is from A Year of Flower, a Gina K stamp set. The paper is SU's Almost Amethyst and layering weight white pure luxury paper. The dp is Basic Greys Romoni.

I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Out West Tilda

Hi!

How has everyone been? Did anyone else have a busy week? I sure did and it looks like this week will be the same. Darn that full time job!

Anyway, I have a card to share. I combined one of my Magnolia stamps with my Out West stamp set. I bought a bunch of Magnolia stamps from 7kids college fund and this Tilda with a horse was one of them. Doesn't she look cute with the horse from Out West?

I colored both the horse and Tilda with copics. I used Memento inks to sponge the grass, sky, and sun to create the scene with the horse. All the papers are from my scraps along with the ribbon. I punched out the 'Howdy' with the smallest ovel punch from SU. I layered two prima's and used a glue dot to attach the sentiment in the middle of them.

There are a couple of things that I am not happy with about the card. The first is the bar brads. After I had them attached, I did not like the look. The second is the coloring of the horse. I could not get the colors to blend as well as I like so there are definite lines between the medium and lightest shades of brown. I hope whoever I give this card to will like it even with it flaws.

Have a great rest of your evening and a great start to your week tomorrow!

Stars and Stripes

Good Evening!

I have another quick post today because I wanted to share a card I finished up this afternoon. I used a few of my new goodies from Gina K's May release along with one of my Magnolia stamps.
All the cs is Gina's pure luxury, In the Navy, Rocket Red, Layering weight White and Stars and Stripes digi paper.
Along with the Tilda with Puppy Magnolia stamp, I used Gina's new free with three stamp set called Lazy Days of Summer.
Tilda was stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics. The larger stars were punched out with the star nestibilities. The blue one was embossed with the distresses embossing folder and heat embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder. The smallest stars were punched with a hand held 1/4 in punch and the medium stars is from the Lazy Days of Summer set and was cut out by hand. The smaller and medium stars were also heat embossed with the iridescent ice embossing powder.
The Celebrate is a stamp from Lazy Days of Summer and was stamped with night of navy ink on the rocket red cs and cut out with one of the spellbinders ribbon labels. The ribbon is from the new Stamp TV kit, Eclectic Summer.
Here is a picture of the inside of the card. Betcha can't guess what set the sentiment is from? Hee hee!
Thank you for stopping by!

What a catch

Good afternoon!

Yeah! The work week is half over! Have you every had days at work you thought would never end? This the days this weeks are just dragging for me even though I have been very busy.

Today's card is made with the brand new Stamp TV kit released last week by Gina K, called Eclectic Summer.
The kit contains two stamps set, a set of images all about summer and the other set is sentiments. These cute little fish and the sentiment are from those sets.
The fish were stamped on dp using versamark and heat embossed using black embossing powder. The dp is from DCWV and a Petaloo's glitter pack. Can you see which fish I used the glitter pack on? I also used my reverse image stamp for one of the fish so they were somewhat looking at each other.
The background paper behind the fish is a piece of layering weight white pure luxury paper that I embossed, rubbed versamark over the raised parts them dabbed I Kan'dee chalks from Pebbles over the versamark (this is the popping pastel technique). I sprinkled some iridescent ice over the chalk and heat embossed it. IRL it is very sparkly.
Embellishments I used were buttons, ribbon and dew drops.

Have a fin-tastic rest of your day!
hugs,

To have and to hold

Good Afternoon!

I want to thank everyone for their feel better wishes. We are finally on the mend and feeling better...knock on wood!
A friend of mine got married a little over a week ago. Her now husband had a conference in Las Vegas so they made a vacation out of it and stayed a couple of days after the conference was over. The night before they flew out, they decided as the spur of the moment to get married while in Vegas!
The card I am sharing today is a wedding card for them. I used the sketch for the 5/28 sketch challenge over at Stamp TV.

I used the stamp set With this Ring.
The cake was stamped in mementos tuxedo black ink. The flowers were colored with copics and covered with crystal lacquer. I water colored the cake with my sakura glitter pen and added silver pearls where the layers meet. The cake was cut out with oval nestibilities and matted on a scallop oval cut from brushed silver. Along with the brushed silver cs, I used groovy Guava and vellum. The vellum which is layered over the brushed silver, was embossed using the textile texture embossing folder. I also stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
I finished off the card with silver ribbon and silver pearls.

I hope your day is blessed with tons of sunshine and happiness!

To have and to hold

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a good Monday.

Just a quick post to share a card I made over the weekend with a new set from Gina K's release last Thursday.
The stamp set is called With this Ring. This set just perfect for a wedding, anniversary card or even a card for your significant other.
This card is one I will be sending to my sister for her wedding anniversary.
I stamp the images and sentiment in mementos tuxedo black ink on white layering weight pure luxury paper. I colored the heart wreath with copics and the rings with my sakura glitter pen. The heart wreath I punch out using a marvy scalloped heart punch (the blue one). The to have and hold sentiment was cut with the heart nestibilities.
The pinkish coral paper is velvet paper I picked up at a local craft store. I love the look of it when it is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.
The background was made using the chalk technique, which is very easy to do. I put water in an empty SU plastic stamp storage box then scrapped the chalked over the water. I used a coupler of different shade of pink I Kan'dee chalks from Pebbles Inc. Take a piece cs and lay it on top of the chalk/water, pull it out and lay aside to dry. Th cs I used was layering weight pure luxury paper. I have also used SU's chalk for this technique but like the I Kan'dee because it has shimmer to it.
After the cs was dry I ran it through the cuttlebug using the same heart embossing folder as the velvet paper and glued it on my card base which is black onyx pure luxury paper.
I finished the card with a few black pearl on the hearts and rings.

Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a great rest of your day!
