Autumn Glitter

Hi!

Do you have glitter pens? There is a challenge on stamp tv to use glitter pens on a card. I have several glitter pens but rarely use the colored ones. I am always grabbing my Sakura Stardust Pure Glitter Pen, which is my favorite.
For this challenge I dug out the colored glitter pens.
The flowers and apples in the basket are from Gina K's Signs of Autumn Stamp TV Kit and were first stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K's White Layering Weight Pure Luxury paper, colored with copics, then water colored with the glitter pens. Water coloring with the glitter pens give a softer glittery look which I love. To watercolor with the glitter pens, I work in small sections. I started out by outlining the flower petals with the glitter pen then used my niji watercolor brush to move the ink around the petal. After the petals were done, I moved onto the leaves and again just outlined them. After the leaves I went back and did the center of the flowers. I wanted to give the petals time to dry before doing the center so the two colors did not mix together. I did the same for the apples and the basket.
I tried to angle to card a bit so you could see the shimmer. IRL it stands out so much better than I could get to show in the picture. Clicking on the image will enlarge it for you.
The flower image was cut out with the oval nestibilities and I added rub-on pastes around the edges of the scalloped ovals matting the image. I also added rub-on paste to the Chocolate Chip cs after embossing it with the Festive Floral embossing plate by Sissex and to the Summer Sun cs before punching out the wave flourishes.

The green cs is also SU but I can remember which of the green from the bold brights it is, sorry!
If you have not tried water coloring with your glitter pens, give it a try!
Thank you for stopping by today!
Sharri
