Meet my owl Rose

Good Morning!
Is is Monday already? It was so hard to get up this morning for work. I have been off since Dec 23rd and have taken advantage of sleeping in!

I had posted this card on SCS and the planet but have not shared it here yet on my blog.
I combined Old Olive and Apricot Appeal along with Olive Press DP which is a retired SU one.
The image and sentiment is from Gina K's Owl Always Love You stamp set.

I paper pieced the owl, flowers and eggs using a couple of Birthday cards I received. Some of the leaves are colored with copics and the rest are paper pieced using the Olive Press dp.
The rest of the image is colored with copics. I also used copics to color in the owls eyes and beak so they did not have the rose pattern then used crystal lacquer to give them a shiny look.
I paper pierced opposite corners of the focal point then used the rectangle nesties to mat first on apricot then olive.
I stamped the image then cut it out using the spellbinders double ended label. I attached the label to the card with olive ribbon.
I punched two borders, one apricot and one olive cs, using the MS Embossed Zig Zag punch.
I inked just the leaves on the owl image and stamped them along the zig zag on the olive cs.
Instead of lining up the zig zags on the two borders, I lines them up to create a diamond look that matches the pattern in the dp. I added strip of olive grosgrain ribbon on the apricot border and a couple of prima's with a brad in the center.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!!
Sharri
