Mix It Up Monday - Bingo

Hi and Happy Monday!

I am thrilled to be hosting this weeks Mix It Up Monday challenge on Stamp TV. 

I thought it would be fun to play Bingo with all of you this week! However, I needed to make it a bit challenging for you so we are playing Color Bingo. Sound like fun?!!

Here is the Bingo card we will be using for the challenge.

Bingo rules are really simple - choose any row, either down, across or diagonally and use those three colors in that row to create your project. You may also use either White or Ivory with the colors in the row that you choose.  

I used all Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Paper to create the bingo card. These are the colors from left to right.
Row 1: Pumpkin Spice, Moonlit Fog, Bubblegum Pink
Row 2: Turquoise Sea, Smokey Slate, Wild Dandelion
Row 3: Tan Leather, Passionate Pink, Green Apple

Here is my card -

I used the colors from the top row (Pumpkin Spice/Moonlit Fog/Bubblegum Pink) and white as my neutral color. The pattern papers are from My Minds Eye Indie Chic paper pack.
The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Dreams stamp set. I stitched along the center of the ric rac pieces of paper with white twine. I also added some random stitching on the card with my sewing machine.

Tonight we were challenged to make a project using the colors for this weeks color spotlight challenge on Stamp TV.
I also played along with the Moxie Fab World Challenge - which is to incorporate stamping with markers technique.
When I saw the color for the challenge I thought they were perfect to use with Theresa Momber's newest stamp set, Little Critters. I colored the mushroom scene and turtle with copics - E42, E43, E44, E47, E49, E81, G82, G85, G94, W00, W4/YG21, YG63, YG91, W6.
The pattern papers are an assortment of Basic Grey and K&Company. The cs is of course Gina K Pure Luxury.

Easter Basket

Hi there friends!!!

Nothing new in my life...still very busy and very stressful! At least it's consistent? lol!
I got a start on my Easter cards this week...1 down...many to go!
All the images are from Gina K's Spring Basket and Basket Blessings stamp sets. The flower, chicks and eggs are colored with Koh-i-Noor pencils and OMS. I added sparkle to the eggs and flowers using my Spica pens and clear glitter pen. The basket was stamped on a scrap piece of pattern paper and was cut out. The basket is actually a bit taller but I wanted a shorter basket for my chick to sit in among the eggs so I cut the basket down a bit. I also cut the top strip of the basket off and re-attached it cover up the rough edge after cutting down the basket.
The pattern papers are scraps of October Afternoon and the cardstock is Gina K's Black Onyx, Wild Dandelion and Red Hot.

Wishing for Spring

Hi!!

Did you enjoy the Layers of Color Cake Decorating Party? Weren't all of those cakes and cupcakes awesome?!!

Today I am sharing another card I made for the Stamp TV release party Challenges. The challenge was called "String it up" which translates into using twine, fiber, or string but no ribbon.
I am soooo ready for spring so thought I would create a card with a spring like feel to it for this challenge.
The my focal image uses stamps from Gina K's The Giving Tree stamp set. I used memento inks to stamp the tree, flowers and birds nest. The birdhouse and grass were colored with copics, E25, E33, E34, E35, E37/YG01, YG21, YG23, YG25, W00.
The sentiment is also from The Giving Tree stamp set and is cut out using circle nestabilities and tucked behind the picket fence border.
I chose to use twine for my card and wrapped it around behind the buttons and also threaded it through the buttons.
The pink paper in the background was embossed using Sizzix Wood Grain embossing folder. I sponged a bit of Memento's Angel Pink ink over the embossing to make it stand out a bit more.

Green and Yellow challenge

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a fabulous start to your week! I did not mean to be so quiet on my blog these past few days. Last week was very busy and stressful at work so when I got home, all I wanted to do was veg on the couch. I am sure you have all had those days or weeks right? *wink* I carried my vegging on the couch through Saturday and by yesterday I was feeling recharged and was inspired to play along with a couple of challenges on Stamp TV that the designers issued during the release party Thursday night.
My card today is for the Color Challenge and the colors we were suppose to use are green, yellow and a neutral color, which I picked white for my neutral.
The flowers are from Gina K's Buds and Vases stamp set and are colored with copics, YG0000, YG00, YG01, and YG03. I added a bit of stickle to the flower petals and a pearl to the centers.
The sentiment is from Versatile Verses and was cut out with a Spellbinders label die and matted on a die from the Fleur De Lis Pendant set.
The papers are Gina K's Pure Luxury Lemon Drop, Grass Green and White. The pattern paper is Basic Greys Origins.

Colors of Orange

Hiya!!

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day!! Mine was quiet which is A OK by me!! We stayed home and got caught up on some of the shows on the DVR.

My card today was made for a few challenges which I listed below. The Daisies are from Purr-fectly Delightful by Gina K Designs. I stamped them on Copic X-press It paper and colored them with copics, YR12, YR15, YR18/YG03, YG17/BG01, BG10/C00, BG60. I added black Doodlebug glitter to the centers and a thick coat of crystal lacquer to the glass vase.

The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Ambrosia and the card stock is Gina K's Pure Luxury Sweet Mango and MoonLit Fog. I kept the embellishments to a minimum to keep the focus on the flowers.

Lots of green

Hi!

I am a bit stiff and sore today. A couple of friends and I got together yesterday for our annual bowling tournament for work. We have a ton of fun!
This is probably the only time each year I bowl! lol! I am a terrible bowler! lol! We bring our significant others along with us and like usual my DH ends up bowling for me! Good thing to because my score doesn't look so bad when he bowls *wink*

Anywho, I realized that I had not shared this card with you here on my blog.

I made it early in the month for a challenge on Stamp TV. The challenge was to use 1 new thing on your project. My new thing is the lace. I found it at my local Hobby Lobby store.
I used Gina K's Lovely Labels 2 with a sentiment from the Inspiration Mosiac stamp set for the main focal image on the card. This is my favorite sentiment in the set!

The pattern paper is scraps of Little Yellow Bicycle I had in my scrap drawer. The rest of the papers is Gina K's Pure Luxury Ivory and SU's Wild Wasabi.
Can you see the bit of Wild Wasabi that is embossed behind the label? I used Cuttlebug's Fleur De Lis embossing folder to match the pattern on the dp.

Emboss resist

Hello!

Today I have a card to share where I used the Emboss Resist technique. You can find tutorials for this technique and many more on Stamp TV or on Splitcoast Stampers here. I use this technique all the time when I want to create a scene where I sponge or brayer in the background. Today's card uses what I call the easiest way to do the emboss resist technique.
Stamps: Gina K, Ink: SU, Versmarker, PTI, Paper: SU, Gina K, Other: Spellbinders, Lace, Ribbons, Clear Embossing Powder, Jumbo Scalloped Dienamic Die

The snow flakes are from Gina K's Holiday Cheer stamp set. I stamped them with versamark on white pure luxury paper and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I cut them out using a Petite Oval Nestability but before I removed the paper from the die I sponged SU's Bashful Blue ink over the paper. This made the snowflake pop and also added a frame to the image panel.
The pattern paper is an older retired one from SU. The scalloped border was made using MFT Jumbo scalloped dienamic die. The border is not dp but snowflakes I stamped on the cs using white ink.

The sentiment is from Gina's Warm and Wonderful stamp set.

Now if you are wondering how I do the emboss resist when making a scene card. I will first stamp and color the image then I will recolor the image using a versmark pen. Once the image is covered with versamark, I will heat emboss it using clear embossing powder. After the image has cooled I always cover it again with the versmark pen and heat emboss with another coat of clear embossing powder. I find this will fill in any little spots I may have missed the first time I colored with the versamark pen.

Here is a little peek at my card...can you guess what our inspiration was?

For the hop tonight we were asked to follow along with this weeks Color Spotlight Challenge. Gina gave us two different color combinations this week. You can read all about the Color Spotlight Challenge and the two color combinations here.

I used this color combo... I wanted the focus for the card to really be on the colors for the challenge so I made a card without any pattern paper...can you believe it?!!
The image is from Buds and Vases. I colored the flowers with copics - YG63, YG67, G94/R22, R24, R27, R29/YR20, YR21, YR23/WOO. The Sentiment is from the Picture It stamp set.

I added a few layers of matting behind the image and the sentiment using Spellbinders Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangles.

The papers are of course the Pure Luxury Red Hot, Sweet Corn and Fresh Asparagus. Since I did not use pattern paper, I gave my embossing folders a workout. I used 3 different dot embossing folders. The border edge along the right side is a Martha Stewart border punch.

Red, Mango, Turquoise

Hello!

So what do you think of those colors I have in my post title? These colors are for the Stamp TV color spotlight challenge that Gina issued on Stamp TV last Friday. To tell you the truth when I saw the colors listed for the challenge I was not sure if I would like them together but once I finished my card I ended up really liking this color combo!
The flowers are from Gina K's Hope Grows stamp set and are colored with copics, Y17, Y23, Y35, YR04, YR07, R08, YG17. I colored the flowers with a versamarker and embossed with clear embossing powder before sponging memento's summer sky ink over it. The image is matted on a Lacey Circle and the points on the top and bottom of the circle are from one of the little dies in the Lotus Pendant set.
The papers are the Pure Luxury, Red Hot, Sweet Mango and Turquoise Sea. The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Ambrosia and Wander.
The sentiment is from Gina K's Hang in There stamp set.
I finished off the card with red ribbon and a couple of button tied with red bakers twine.

CAS shimmer

Good morning!

How are you all today? Boy was it hard to go back to work yesterday after being off over the Holidays! Not only did I come back to over 1100 emails but the day just dragged! I am positive today will be better...it's one day closer to the weekend after all! lol!

I have another card I made for the Stamp TV countdown challenges. Hopefully you will not get tired of them because I have 5 more to share after todays card. *smile*.
This one is for the Shimmer Background challenge and Abbi made a card for this one too.
Here is my card...
I kept this card pretty simple.
After embossing the lighter blue cs with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, I colored the flowers with a clear glitter pen and the flourished stems with a green Spica pen.
The sentiment is from You are not Alone. I cut it out and matted it with a few different spellbinders Dies - Circles, Blossoms 2 and Labels 14.
To be honest, I am not sure I like this one. I think it's the green flourished stems that I am having a problem with. Maybe if I had used the clear glitter pen for them I would be happier with it.

Grandma's coat button

Hiya and Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year. I spent New Year's day at my craft table working on the countdown challenges that Gina had on Stamp TV.
What made it more fun was that Abbi made some of the cards right along with me and asked if I would share them with on my blog with my cards. Of course I had to say yes! *smile*.

Our cards today were inspired by the 'Adding a Button to a bow" Challenge.
This is my card...

The toaster is from the Sung from the Heart stamp set. I did a combination of coloring with copics and paper piecing. The copics I used are E71, E74, E77/E51, E53/E34/B93.
The dp is from Little Yellow Bicycle which I picked up at my local Archiver's store.
The button I added to my bow is from a jar of buttons that were my Grandmother's. I remember her having a winter coat that looked like this button.

This is Abbi's card...She picked out a couple different pieces of pattern paper and colored all of her toaster in using her Prisma markers.

Violet Daisies

Happy Friday!!!

Anyone else glad it's Friday besides me? It's been a long busy week and I am ready for the weekend to begin!!

Last night was Abbi's Christmas program at school. The place was packed to the point of the parents having to sit on the floor of the gymnasium which would have been okay except for the fact that it was wet with the slushy snow people tracked in on their shoes! Other than my wet butt, the program was excellent!!

Today I have a card that was inspired by Stamp TV Spotlight Color Challenge last week. The colors were Fresh Asparagus, Vibrant Violet and White. I was able to get this card submitted for the challenge with a couple hours to spare! Today there is a new color challenge so be sure to check that one out too - K?
The daisies are from Theresa's Purrr-fectly Delightful stamp set and the sentiment treatment is from her new The Giving Tree stamp set.
The daisies were colored with Copics BV02, BV04, BV08/E74, E77, E79/G82, G85, BG96. I used my Sakura Glitter Pen and Niji Waterbrush to watercolor over the daisies to add some sparkle to them. I like doing this technique because it does not alter the colors which I think happens if you just use the glitter pen by itself.
I used a combination of the Spellbinder Labels, 7 & 17 to be exact, for the daisies.
The white paper is embossed with Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots embossing folder and layered on top of the cardbase which is the Vibrant Violet.

Warm and cozy colors

Tonight I would like to share a card that was inspired by the Stamp TV's Friday Spotlight Color Challenge. The colors we were challenged to use are White, Red Hot and Turquoise Sea.
I made another Christmas card...surprised aren't you? LOL!

The image is from Gina K's Warm and Cozy Christmas stamp set as is the sentiment. It's colored with copics, E000, E00/E25, E27/E31, E53/C00/C5, C6, C7, C8/G82, G85/BG13, BG32, BG49/R22, R24, R27, R29. I added a thick coat of crystal lacquer to the boot, snowmans hat, button and nose. The snow is liquid applique and before I heated it with my heat tool to puff it up, I sprinkled white glitter on it to give it that sparkle that fresh fallen snow has.
I used a couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders, Swiss Dots and Snowflakes.
All the papers are Gina K's Pure Luxury Papers.

Vintage Christmas

Happy Wednesday my friends!

Today I have a card I made for Gina K's new Video Sketch Challenge at StampTV and it's another Christmas card with a vintage feel to it.

I used Gina's Blessed is the Season and Fanciful Tags stamp sets. The pattern paper is Webster's Pages Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season. Love the vintage look of these pages! I broke down and used a bit of my lace. I threaded ribbon along the top of it and then finished off the card with a little ribbon bow on the snowflake.
