I made this card made over two weeks ago and it has been sitting in my basket waiting for me to take a picture of it. I finally had a chance early yesterday morning before we were off and running for the day.

What should have been a simple card turned out to be quite time consuming! I had quite the time figuring out the layers and how I should tuck the different labels in on this card. I finally told myself this is it after 5+ attempts!

I used The Craft's Meow Sew Lovely stamp set for the dress form and labels that I tucked in along side it. The layer with the pattern paper in the way back was cut out with Spellbinders Creatopia Frame 6. I found these at Jo Ann's. The pattern paper is Magnolia and I have had it in my stash for a while ;-)

The sentiment is from Fairy Wishes by Layers of Color and underneath that I used the smaller doily stamp from their Beautiful Lace set to create the stamped pattern.

The crocheted rolled rose is one I made.

Things with wings

Hi and happy Thursday!
It's time for another Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz. This week's challenge theme is Things With Wings.
This is my sample for the challenge.

I used a few different stamp sets to create this card. The silhoutte is from Layers of Colors - Fairy Wishes. The Post Card tucked in the back is also a Layers of Colors stamp. The sentiment is from The Crafts Meow Sent with Love. The fairy is one of my things with wings. I added a fews small butterflies next to the bottom cluster of roses to add more things with wings to my card.
The papers are My Minds Eye - Honeycake. Have you seen the new My Minds Eye papers? I am in love <3!

Framed Prayer

Hi!

My MIL asked me to make her a few sympathy cards so she had some on hand when she needed them. I kept this one fairly simple. The frame and prayer sentiment is from Layers of Color Elegant Labels. The pattern paper is Simple Stories. I used a couple of Cheery Lynn Dies - Tropical Flourish and Kiwi Doily.

I made a couple of little note cards using some of scrap paper that was laying around on my craft table. These went together really quick which I loved since I am a very slow crafter ;)

My Beautiful Friend

This my sample for the Twisted Thursday's Challenge at The Outlawz. This week our challenge is to create a project with a friendship theme.

The dress form is from Layers of Colors Beautiful Lace stamp set. I paper pieced the dress using the same pattern papers I used for the card which is Basic Greys Little Black Dress.

For the flower treatment I ruffled a piece of Seam Binding Ribbon, rolled it up to make a ribbon rose and added a WOC flower to the center.

The lace border is a stamp in the Beautiful Lace stamp set. I love how it looks embossed...it almost look real.

Creating with circles

Hi!

I am so behind in posting this card! My hours at work have changed. I am working later in the day and I am having trouble adapting to the change but hopefully I get used to it very soon and get on a new schedule that includes some crafting time :)

Enough of that! Now lets get onto my card.

This my sample for the Twisted Thursday's Challenge at The Outlawz. The challenge this week is punches and diecuts. 

The image is from Layers of Color's Beautiful Lace. I colored the flowers with prisma pencils and OMS. After coloring them I covered them with Rock Candy stickles. I love this stuff!!

The flower behind the roses is one I crocheted. The image is attached to a belly band which is keeping the card closed.

This is what the card looks like opened. I cut out 4 circles using the largest Spellbinders eyelet circles. I scored the circles in half and then lined up the score lines to create a square.

Hi!

I have been spending lots of time with my family this week. It has been so nice to be able to unwind, relax and enjoy my family. I already dread going back to work next week!

Since Abbi is taking a nap, I thought I would share the card I made for this week's Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz.

This week the challenge is 'Anything Goes'. There is a twist, if you choose, to use your favorite things and stripes.

The favorites that I chose were from my crafting supplies. My dies, MME pattern papers and one of my 'new' favorite stamp sets, Fairy Wishes by Layers of Colors. Now tomorrow my crafting supply favorites will probably change as I am sure they do with most people ;)

Beautiful Friend

Hiya!!

This card uses Layers of Colors Beautiful Lace stamp set.  The doily in tucked behind the sentiment is one of the stamps in the set. I stamped the doily on white paper and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged Pumice Stone Distressed Ink over the embossing to give it a aged look. The dress is covered with Rock Candy Stickles.

The pattern papers are Authentique's Uncommon.

Buckled gate fold

How are your holiday preparations going? I am so thankful we will be going to other family homes for the holiday festivities. If anything was going to be at my house, I would be in a total state of panic right now as I would have a lot of cleaning to do in the next couple of days! lol!



I wanted to share another gate fold card I made. I always struggle finding a way to keep them closed other than using a belly band, so I tried something different this time and it worked!.

The label stamp is Layers of Colors Elegant Labels. The sentiment inside the label is Gina K Designs Holiday Hospitality. The two Ornaments are from Some Odd Girls Tree Trimming Kaylee stamp set. The ornaments are colored with copics. Unfortunately I can not share the colors like I usually do because I forgot to write them down :)
Now let me show you what I did to keep the card closed.

I created a buckle closure which I hid behind the image panel so you do not see it when the card is closed. It worked really well at keeping the card closed :)

Medallion Ornament

Hi!

It's Thursday so that means it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we have fun one for you called "Make an Ornament". We would like you to create a project that included either an ornament on your project or to make an actual ornament.
Here is my sample -

I made an actual ornament using the doilies from Layers Of Colors Beautiful Lace Stamp set. I stamped the larger doily twice on green cardstock with versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I did the same for the smaller doily using ivory cardstock. I then scored each doily in between the "points". From there I cut up one score line to the center and valley folded the doilies. The two same size doilies were combined to make the medallions.

Here is a side view so you can see the folds. I used an empty ribbon spool for the base of the ornament and covered it with gold cardstock.

Teacup Fairy

Hi and Happy Monday!

I was playing around with one my new stamps sets from Layers Of Colors a couple of weeks ago and I finally got around to taking a picture of the card and editing it for my blog. 

All the images are from LOC's Fairy Wishes stamp set. This set was designed by Nina Brackett and I just love it!! The teacup is a free template that Laura gave away during a recent LOC tea party hop. You can find it here. The teacup can be used as a card. I chose to cut the template in half to use on my card.

In stitches...

Thursday's mean it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we are challenging you to create a project that includes stitching in it. We know not everyone has a sewing machine and we do want you all to be able to play along so we are accepting any kind of stitching...faux, hand-stitching, sewing on a button...what ever you can think of that resemble stitching.
Here is my sample -
The teacup is from Layers of Colors Teacup Blessing stamp set. I colored it with Prisma pencils and oms. The stitching was done with a sewing machine.
Now that I am looking at the picture, the colors are a bit washed out. They are more vibrant irl.
The pattern papers are from K&Company's Julianne pack. The butterfly and flower embellishments have been in my stash for a very long time.

You know what Thursdays here on my blog mean...The Outlawz Pom Group challenge at The Outlawz! This week we are challenging you to create your own pattern paper. I for one can not wait to see your homemade pattern paper!!

This is my sample to get your creative juices flowing.
I used Gina K Designs Tropical Flowers Stamp set to create my pattern paper. I did not want to take away from my pattern paper so I kept the card fairly simple with just a sentiment as the focal image. The sentiment is from the Encouragement stamp set by Layers of Colors.

Hi!
When I saw this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge I knew I had to play along! This week their challenge is to Create a card or project that depicts the sharp contrast of black & white or ivory. I love black and white or black and ivory together.
I went with the black and ivory so I could use some of my DCWV La Creme papers. The sentiment is from Layers of Colors Encouragement Art stamp set. This is now one of my favorite scripture's set!
The flourish is Cheery Lynn's Tropical Flourish die.

Today I am sharing the love...well a love card anyway.
I saw that Moxie Fab was having a challenge where the GRAND PRIZE winning card will be chosen by the editors at Paper Crafts magazine and will be FEATURED in the January/February 2012 issue of Paper Crafts magazine!
This is my submission to the Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I used The Love Chapter stamp set by Layers of Color for the Psalms verse and the sentiment. The background panel is stamped with the En Francais background stamp by SU as is the papers and ink.

Things with Wings

Good afternoon my friends!
This week The Outlawz POM challenge group is going to take flight by challenging you to create a project that includes things with wings. Butterflies, bees, birds, fairies, dragon fly...anything that has wings. The only other rule we have for the POM challenges is that your can not use alcohol based markers such as copics. Any other type of medium is welcome and wanted! ;o)
Here is my sample for you.

I went with butterflies for my things with wings. The butterflies were stamped on vellum paper with versamark and heat embossed with bridal embossing powder. I added pearls to the centers to make little bodies for them. They from the stamp set Flutterescent by Layers of Colors. The Starflower Frame is also by Layers of Colors. The starflower frame is cut out using spellbinders labels 16. I added tiny pearls to the center of the flowers.
The sentiment inside the frame is Everyday Miracles by Sweet N' Sassy Stamps.
The pattern paper is from Echo Parks Walk in the Park pack.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and a great start to the week! I had a lot of fun Sunday afternoon with Jess and Sue. We made a few cards and a rolled fabric rose using a gluber by Cosmo Cricket. I have been wanting to try the rolled fabric rose and can not wait to use it on a project to share with you. I can see it now, they are going to be addicting! I am already trying to figure out where I am going to store my fabric...lol!
If you have not heard about the Gluber's, check out the Cosmo Cricket blog post here. I couldn't believe how easy it was to make a rolled fabric rose with them.
I made a project to share with Jess and Sue and promise I will share it here on my blog with you tomorrow but today I wanted to share a card I made for all of you.
This is my thank you to you, for being a follower of my blog and for your all support and comments. I truly appreciate each and everyone of you!!
I used Layers of Colors stamps for your card. The frame is the Floral Frame stamp set and is colored with copics, YG93, YG95, YG97/E25, E27, E33/Y13, Y15, Y17, Y35, Y38, YR20. After coloring the flowers, I lightly sponged SU's So Saffron ink in the center of the frame and Old Olive around the outside of the frame. I added stickles to the flowers for some sparkle. The sentiment is from the Sent with Love stamp set.
For the background on the cardbase I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil called Paradise and Peeled Paint distressed ink. I really like look of the stencil behind the frame. I added some lace, a paper doily and roses to the card to give it a bit of a vintage feel.

Layers of Colors Cake Decorating Party!

Our party hostess is Gunn Thelin Knutsen who is generously sharing her cake template with us today! Come whet your appetite with her creative paper cake slice boxes that are marvelously decorated with Layers of Color.

This is truly how you can have your cake and eat it too! Enjoy a tasty cake fresh from the oven,
while being creative with Layers of Color, pretty papers, laces, flowers, and even jewelry!

I made three pieces of cake and cupcake to share with you. I have quite a few pictures so I will keep my chatter to a minimum. If you have any questions about the cakes or cupcake, please leave them in the comments or drop me an email and I will be happy to answer them!

First up is the cupcake...

The cupcake liner was made with Basic Grey's Lime Rickey pattern paper and my Score Pal. The tag was made with the LOC Sent with Love stamp set and Spellbinder's Long Rectangle Nestabilities. The 'frosting' is a crocheted flower that I handmade. I decorated the cupcake with the darling baby and tree images from the Flower Child stamp set.

Here is a closer look at the frosting and decorations.

Next up is the piece of cake that my daughter says reminds her of cheesecake.

I printed out the template on a piece of glossy paper and used my alcohol inks to create the marbled look. This technique is called polished stone. I added a piece of lace along the center of the slice to make it look like a layered piece of cake. The butterflies are from the Flutterescent stamp set and were colored with copics.
Let me show how I decorated the top...

I used lots of paper flowers, branch punches and another beautiful butterfly from the Flutterescent stamp set.

My next piece of cake has a musical theme...

The cake template was printed on shimmer white card and I decorated the cake with images from the Joyful Noise stamp set. All the images were heat embossed using sparkly black embossing powder.
And here is a top view...

Along with the images, I added paper and prima flowers, leaf branched and pearl strings.

And my last piece of cake...

I decorated this piece of cake using the Bella Brocade stencil and Rusty Hinge distressed ink. I accented the brocade with rhinestones and chunky glitter.

The Dr's in...

Today I have a sneak peek of one of my treats I will be sharing for the Layers of Color Cake Decorating party but first I would like to share a card I made for the MFT WSC getting Sketchy #5.
I used one of the Pure Innocence images called World's Best Doctor. I colored him with copics, E000, E00, E21, E25, E27, E29, E41, E42, GY93, YG95, YG97, W00, W0, W1, W2, C2, C3, C4, C6. I added a thick coat of Crystal Lacquer to the metal on the clipboard, buttons, stethoscope, and shoes.

The pattern papers are Webster's Pages and the cs is from a local scrapbook store. I wanted to keep to a masculine theme so I used Jute Ribbon, buttons and twine for embellishments.

Now how about a sneak peek of one of my sweet treats I created during my baking frenzy this past weekend... I am going to be a tease and not tell you anything at all about this picture! *wink* So stop back on the 23rd to get a full glimpse and all the details of this little treat!

Happy Thursday!!!

My daughter was in a mood last night...and boy what a mood it was for an 8 year old. We spent most of the night doing home and the homework should have only taken 30 - 45 minutes tops! The only good thing that came out of me sitting right by her to keep her on task was I got to make a card while she did the homework. I knew there was a perk for her doing homework at my craft table! lol!

It's been a while since I played along with a Card Patterns Sketch challenge but when I saw this weeks sketch # 99 and that Layers of Colors was the sponsor, I wanted to make sure I played along.
Here is the sketch for this week...
And this is my take on the sketch...

I used Layers of Colors Love Chapter stamp set for my card. I love this set illustrated by Nina Brackett!
The fun pattern paper is from DCWV's Doodlin' Around pack. I paired it up with Gina K's Red Hot and SU Blush Blossom. The inks are Memento Ladybug, SU Blush Blossom and Vivid's Red.

I added a bit of lace, ribbon and fun MS heart border punch to finish off the card.

Did you see on my top right sidebar that Layers of Colors is having a cake decorating party? I was invited to join the party!! I am so excited and can not wait to show you the sweet treats that I am baking up to share with you all! I have been testing out my decorating skills and one started that Abbi says looks like a cheesecake!
