This month Brenda provided us with this fabulous photo to use as our inspiration when creating our projects.

I noticed that beautiful quilt right away and then the flowers on the pillow and used those two things as inspiration for my card.

The vase of flowers is from Purr-fectly Delightful and is colored with copics – R02, 05, 08/E23, 25, 27, 29, 40, 41/BG10, 11/YG21, 23, 25/C00, 0, 1/W00, 0.
I added a bit of stickles to the flower petals and centers. The sentiment is from Fanciful Tags.

I tried to create a quilt look for my background by embossing the pattern paper, adding stitching along the edges and inking around the edges with distressed ink.  I finished it off with lace and pearl flourishes.

Welcome! Tonight a few of StampTV Center Stage Alumni Designer's are hosting another fun blog hop featuring Gina K stamps.

For tonight's hop we were asked to create a project based on this fun gift basket from 1-800 Flowers:
When I saw the picture, the first thing that I was drawn to was the colors and shapes. So that is what I used to base my card on tonight.
I used the "Fun Year Round" and "Aloha" stamp sets to created a scene for you. I added the sky and water first using my brayer. Next I stamped the frame from Fun Year Round and then I added the images from Aloha. I colored the palm tree with Memento's markers then sponged in the ground. After I had the card put together I thought it still needed something so I colored a couple of the flowers from Aloha with copics, cut them out and popped them up in the corners with a pop dot. It was a perfect touch don't you think?

Lost post

Hello my Friends!


Do you ever create draft posts for your blogs? Have you ever forgotten that you did create a draft and it got lost in long lists of posts?

Well I just came across this lost post and actually found a couple others. I have been posting for about a year and a half and just now noticed when you edit posts that there is this little section "Your Posts: All, Drafts, Scheduled, Imported, Published". Yup...can't tell you how I missed this! Lol! The flower is from Gina K's Eclectic Summer stamp set and was colored with copics. I added some shimmer to it by watercoloring with a clear glitter pen. The sentiment is from Gina's Eclectic Summer Sayings. The papers are from River Rock, Gina's Chocolate Kiss and White PL and the dp is K&Co.

CSS Challenge Blog Hop

It's time for another CenterStage Spotlight Challenge Blog hop!

Hostess: Jessica Fick {Design Team Coordinator}

Theme: Stamp and color the image on Patterned Paper { any occasion card acceptable, it doesn't have to be Christmas themed} { image may be cut out and layered, but must be stamped and colored on patterned paper}

Requirement: any GinaK Designs stamp set & Glitter

Bonus Challenge: decorate the inside of your card to coordinate.

I have two cards to share with you tonight.

The first one uses the poinsettia from A Year of Flowers. I stamped two poinsettia's on dp with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with copics, cut them out and added stickles to make them sparkle before layering them.
I took a piece of Ruby Red cs spritzed it with water then crumpled it up to make the cs all wrinkled. The sentiment is from Festive Frames and is cut out with a spellbinders tag and I used a gold leafing pen around the edge of the tag. I got a piercing template for my Birthday and used that to pierce the pattern on the Sage Shadow cs. Gold cord is wrapped around the top. I finished off the card with Gold pearls.

On to the next card... For this card I used the stamp set Winter Friends. The snowmen are stamped on dp with Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics. I added glitter to the snow woman's sweater, edge of her scarf and the trim of her hat. I added Ice Clear Roxs to the ground below the snowmen to look like snow. The sentiment is from Holiday Hospitality. Here is the inside of the card. The presents and sentiment are stamped on dp, colored with copics and all glittered up.

Calendar Grid, Bits and Pieces Blog Hop

We are hopping again tonight! This time it is for Tami Mayberry's new sets, Calendar grid and Calendar Bits and Pieces. These sets are so versatile and the Calendar Bits and Pieces set has so many stamps that it can be used for any occasion or on any project.
Tonight I want to share a CAS card with you...ok maybe it's not a true CAS card but this is about as CAS as I can do lol!
I stamped the calendar grid on Gina's white pl paper with Memento's Bamboo Leaves. I added the numbers also stamped with Bamboo Leaves except for the number 25. That was stamped with Memento's Ladybug to highlight Christmas day. I also added the little tree and the round cornered rectangle stamp, both which are in the Calendar Bits and Pieces set. I cut off the Sunday and Monday columns and the bottom row to fit on my card layout. I matted the grid on Rocket Red cs. The card base is Fresh Asparagus and the DP is from SU.
The Season's Greeting sentiment is from Melanie's Festive Frames and was stamped in Ladybug ink on white pl paper. The frame around the sentiment is also a stamp. I cut the sentiment/frame out with a spellbinders labels 8 die. I finished off the card with some Chocolate Twill Ribbon and an eyelet rain dot.

Festive Frame

Hi!

Today I have a card to share that uses Melanie's new Festive Frames stamp set. This is the first card I made with this set. I remember when I first saw this set I fell in love with it but was not sure what to do with it. Have you ever had that happen? So whats the best way to get started? By inking it up and going with the flow. Exactly what I did. I inked it up with rich cocoa ink and stamped it on White pl paper, and this is what evolved.
I colored everything with copics. The poinsettia's were stamped and colored again, then cut out and popped up. I water colored with my handy Sakura glitter pen to give them sparkle and added pearls the the centers. I also added glitter to the berries. I wish I would have just used my glitter pen because I think that is too much glitter for the little guys and completely covers them.

I decided I wanted to stamp my linen background stamp over the frame but did not want the linen in the center of the frame so I stamped the image on a separate piece of paper and cut out the center to use for my mask. The linen was stamped with Blush Blossom. I stamped the sentiment in the center and decided to add some shading so I used the frame part from the paper I cut the center out of to mask everything but the center...are you following me?

I sponged blush blossom and pretty in pink in the center.

I matted the frame on Chocolate Kiss and for the base I used Fresh Asparagus and stamped my linen background on that using Bamboo leaves ink.
Whew! I think that's it!

Vintage Borders Blog Hop

We are hoping again tonight! In the spotlight is Nina Brackett's new stamp set called Vintage Borders. I love all of Nina's stamp sets but I have to say this one is my favorite so far.
I have two cards to share with you tonight.
The first card uses just the sentiment in set.
I started out with a 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of In the Navy paper and folded it in half. I added the layered ovals using In the Navy and Silver Lining paper to the top which makes the size of the card the normal 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". Across the center of the oval is a daisy border punched with one of my new border punches using Silver Lining paper. The scalloped square was embossed using a sizzex ef and added to the front of the card with foam pop dots. The sentiment was stamped on white pl with inky blue Vivid ink and cut out using the labels 9 dies and layered on Silver Lining cut out using the same Labels 9 die then backed with In the Navy cs cut out using the Labels 5 die. I embellished the card with ribbons, buttons and pearls.

Here is the other card...

For this card I heat embossed the images on Gina K's Chocolate Kiss and Fresh Asparagus using Bridal embossing powder. The ornaments were cut out with oval nesties and then double matted with Rocket Red, White PL, and Fresh Asparagus also cut out with oval and scalloped oval nesties. I cut out the borders by hand. I embellished this card with ribbon, pearls and a ribbon slide.

Winter Friends bring gifts

Hi!

I have a quick post for you tonight. The card today is made using Rupa's new Winter Friends Stamp set. All the images in this set are so stinkin' cute!

I stamped the snowman on White pl paper with tuxedo Black Ink and colored his nose, present and mittens with copics. I also used copics to shade him and the ground around below him.
I thought he would look cute with a paper pieced sweater, hat and scarf so I stamped him on two different pieces of Wassail paper and cut out the sweater from one and the hat and scarf from the other. I used glitter for the pom pom on his hat and a sakura glitter pen to give the ribbon on the present some shimmer. I cut the snowman out with an Oval Nestibility and matted him on a
Lattice Pendant using the Fresh Asparagus paper. The fun little Cranberry Tart Swirly things around the Oval came with the Lattice Pendant.

Vintage Border in green and gold

I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend!

I don't know about you but my family starts to complain when they think I am spending too much time at my crafting table. I have not quite figured out what they deem as too much time because we are all in the same room when I am at my table but anyway I took the weekend off from blogging and crafting to spend time my family. I did not sit at my table at all this weekend. We had a great time...took in a movie, did some Christmas shopping, went to the zoo and a few meals out.
Tonight I have a card to share using Nina's new set Vintage Borders. If you were at Gina's release party in October this card may look familiar...I share it at the party. Can you believe I still have a few more cards from the party I have not shared?!

The scalloped borders were stamped with versamark on Gina's Good as Gold paper and heat embossed with ranger's gold embossing powder. I cut them out and framed the Feliz Navidad
border with them. That border was stamped with London Fog ink on Ivory PL. The ornaments were stamped with versamark on Gina's All Spruced up paper and embossed with the rangers gold ep. They were cut out with the square nestibilities and matted on Good as Gold and Ivory pl. The DP is from my stash and it has been there quite awhile so I can not even tell you who it belongs to.

Have you started your Christmas shopping? After we went Christmas shopping this weekend, Abbi asked if she could look through my closet and downstairs in the storage room for "stuff". So everything I bought I had to wrap right away so she wouldn't find it! Now I feel like I need to put my trees up to put the gifts under it! Good thing the Santa stuff I have picked up is small enough to hide in places where she can't get to!

First Christmas Blog Hop

Good evening and welcome to another Gina K blog hop!
Tonight we are doing the First Christmas hop! The First Christmas stamp set is illustrated by Asela Hopkins. Asela has created the perfect combination of Christmas stamps with this set.
I have a couple of projects to share with you tonight. First up is a card I made using the larger ornament and the bear images.

The images were stamped with tuxedo black ink on white pl paper, colored with copics and cut out. I added sparkle to the ornament and bears hat and scarf with a clear sakura glitter pen. The trim and ball on the hat, I dabbed white liquid applique on them, sprinkled with glitter and used my heat tool to puff the liquid applique. The images are sitting on a piece of white paper that I embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake ef and then rubbed some Holiday rub-on paste over the raised snowflakes so they have some shimmer to them. The dp is from my scraps. The border is spellbinder's snowflake border and I laced ribbon through the bottom loops.

Next up is a project I created for the monthly 3-d challenge on Stamp TV. This month the challenge was to make a gable box and a handmade ornament. You can find the challenge here along with the template for the gable box.

I used Rich Razzleberry cs and Basic Grays Eskimo Kisses papers for the gable box. I wanted a window in the box so the ornament can peek out so I used the long wavy rectangle to cut it out and covered the window with a piece of acetate. The only embellishments on the box are ribbon and buttons.
I found some plain little wooden ornaments at Hobby Lobby. I wanted to make an ornament using just a sentiment so I decided on the present shape. At first I was just going to paint it before stamping the sentiment but when I went to get the paint out of a drawer I saw the walnut ink by Tsukineko and ended up grabbing that instead.

I rubbed the ink all over the ornament and when it was dry I stamped the sentiment in versamark and heat embossed it with black ep. I added a ribbon and loop to finish it off.

Join me for a Potluck

Good evening!

I am hosting this weeks Friday Potluck Challenge over on Stamp TV. My challenge for everyone is to make a Card on Card.

All the images on the card are from Gina K's Holiday Cheer and are either colored with copics or heat embossed with gold ep. The sentiments are from Festive Frames and are stamped on White pl paper with tuxedo black ink. I used three different spellbinder's labels to cut out the images and sentiments, Labels, 3, 5, and 6.





Let's talk about how I assembled the card...I started out with a Always Artichoke cs cut to 5 1/2" x 10 1/8", scored it at 4 1/8" and again at 8 3/8". This piece is the base card. The second card is a piece of Cranberry Tart cs cut 3 1/2" x 6 1/2". I scored this piece in half at 3 1/4".

Before attaching the smaller card onto the base card I added some dp from Basic Gray's Wassail pack to the small flap on the base card. This is the flap that I attached the smaller card to.

Before I covered the rest of the card in Wassail paper, I took about an 18" piece of ribbon and attached it to the very back of the base card. I cut a small slit in the fold line of the smaller card and threaded the ribbon through it. I punch a small slot on the other edge of the from of the small card and threaded the ribbon through that slot so now the ribbon is wrapped around the card and can be tied on the side to keep the card closed.

This is a view of the card fully open with the images and sentiments added.

Calendar Bits, Pieces and Grid Preview

Hello!!
Tonight I am so excited to be previewing a new stamp set called Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid, illustrated by Tami Mayberry. This set is huge!! Yes, I said huge and can be used for just about any project you can think of.
When I got first glimpse of this set I knew right away what I wanted to make with it. In the past I have made my MIL a desk calendar using the 6x6 desk calendar from SU for a Christmas present each year. She did not get one last year because SU does not carry them anymore...at least that I know of and she was a bit disappointed.
I came up with my own desk calendar that still has room to display the 6x6 scrapbook pages so she can add them to her scrapbook. I started out with two 8x8 squares of chipboard and covered them with SU DSP. I tried to use a color palette that would incorporate all seasons so I used Bashful Blue, Riding hood Red, So Saffron, and Tangerine Tango. I attached the two pieces of chipboard together with gold hinges and brads.

I stamped the calendar grid 12 times on white pl paper with tuxedo black ink and added the dates and months to each before trimming them down to size. I punched holes in them and attached them to the chipboard with larger brads. I added a canopy if you will, to cover the top part of the calendar using a border bunch and some pearls in between the scallops. I finished off this side with some punched out flowers and ribbon.

For the scrapbook page side, I created a very simple mat to place the scrapbook pages on. I did not want to layer all the pages on here because I did not want the bulk and wasn't sure it would look very good so I added a library clip on the top of the mat and on the bottom to hold the scrapbook page.

For this scrapbook page I used some of the stamps from Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid set. The sentiment 'Happy Winter Day' is from the set as is the frame around it. See how perfect it fits in Spellbinder's Labels 3 die? Now since I only wanted one scrapbook page at a time on the front I had think a bit as to what I was going to do with the other pages waiting to be displayed. This is what I came up with...

I created a pocket on each side of the back of the calendar using cardstock and a page protector to hold the rest of the scrapbook pages. I am just showing two of the pages but will share the rest on a later post.

On these two pages, I used what I am calling the journaling lines from the Calendar Bits & Pieces & Grid set. I usually do not add journaling to my pages mainly because I can not write in a straight line and I am too lazy to draw my lines so this little stamp is gonna be well loved by me for my pages!

All the images were colored with copics and cut out. I added some silver cord and antique linen Distressed Stickles.

Festive Frames Blog Hop

Hello my friends and welcome to another Gina K blog hop!

Tonight we are showcasing the Festive Frame stamp set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.
I love the ivory colored poinsettia's with just a touch of pink on them so my favorite colored poinsettia was the inspiration for my color choices on this card...The papers are Black Onyx and Blush Blossom.

I stamped the frame with Tuxedo Black in on Ivory pl paper and colored everything with copics. I added stickle to the leaves on the poinsettia's and the berries. I used my white gel pen to add a touch of highlights to the pine cones. I cut the center of the frame out and popped it up over the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped with versmark and heat embossed using black ep. I then cut it out with an oval nestibility and watercolored the entire oval with my Sakura glitter pen and a niji brush. There is a lot of sparkle on this card.

Here is close up picture. I had a hard time getting a good picture of this card and it was a bright sunny day...go figure! Remember you can click on the pictures to get an even closer look.
