The hot air balloon is from My Favorite Things Up Up and Away stamp set. I paper pieced the balloon with the same My Minds Eye Be Loved papers that I used on the card.
I really had fun with this sketch and can see myself using it again.

Flower Pendant

Hi!

I has this flower colored for quite some time and thought it was time to make a card with it. The flower is from PTI's Year of Flowers Collection stamp set and is colored with copics and prisma pencils & OMS.
I used some more scrap papers that I had sitting on my table. The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Bittersweet.
The little tag and sentiment is PTI's Tiny Tags and Dies.

Seeing red spots

I have a card to share today that I made for this weeks Twisted Thursday's Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we are challenging you to create a project using the color red.

I used the rose stamp from Gina K Designs Friendship's Garden stamp set. I stamped the rose on Kraft cardstock and colored it with Prisma Pencils/OMS.

The sentiment is from Sweet N Sassy's Thinking of You stamp set. I could not find it in the store to give you a link to it.

The red polka dot paper is Echo Parks - Truly Yours.

I have been trying to make a few Valentine's day cards so I am ahead of the game for a change :)

I love this PI image called Little Angel. I paper pieced her dress with papers from Basic Grey's Bittersweet. I also used the Bittersweet papers on the card.
I made the rolled rose using pink felt and the Mini Rolled Rose die from MFT.

Hi!

This is Fiona. She is part of CC Designs Fairy Tale collection.

I colored her with copics, E000, 00, 25, 31, 34, 42/R00, 11, 22, 24, 27, 29/YG13/C3, 4, 5. I added stickles to her hair band and the cherry's on her shirt. Her shoes have a coat of crystal lacquer on them to make them shiny.

The ticket tucked in beside her is from Whimsy's Ticket Sentiments. I finished off the card with lace and a ribbon/bow.

As you can see I flipped the sketch. The butterfly and sentiment are from the Strength and Hope stamp set. The butterfly is colored with copics and then covered with stickles. I added a trail of pearls to make it look like the flight pattern.

My Beautiful Friend

Hi!

This my sample for the Twisted Thursday's Challenge at The Outlawz. This week our challenge is to create a project with a friendship theme.

The dress form is from Layers of Colors Beautiful Lace stamp set. I paper pieced the dress using the same pattern papers I used for the card which is Basic Greys Little Black Dress.

For the flower treatment I ruffled a piece of Seam Binding Ribbon, rolled it up to make a ribbon rose and added a WOC flower to the center.

The lace border is a stamp in the Beautiful Lace stamp set. I love how it looks embossed...it almost look real.

I found a stamp set at a local craft store by My Minds Eye and just loved the images in it. The set is called Two Stamps and it is part of the Lost and Found collection. The ticket tucked behind the image is from a whimsy stamp set called Good Life Ticket. The sentiment is from Sweet N Sassy's Flowers in Bloom stamps set.

The pattern papers are scraps of October Afternoon paper.

Creating with circles

Hi!

I am so behind in posting this card! My hours at work have changed. I am working later in the day and I am having trouble adapting to the change but hopefully I get used to it very soon and get on a new schedule that includes some crafting time :)

Enough of that! Now lets get onto my card.

This my sample for the Twisted Thursday's Challenge at The Outlawz. The challenge this week is punches and diecuts.

The image is from Layers of Color's Beautiful Lace. I colored the flowers with prisma pencils and OMS. After coloring them I covered them with Rock Candy stickles. I love this stuff!!

The flower behind the roses is one I crocheted. The image is attached to a belly band which is keeping the card closed.

This is what the card looks like opened. I cut out 4 circles using the largest Spellbinders eyelet circles. I scored the circles in half and then lined up the score lines to create a square.

Hi!

I have been spending lots of time with my family this week. It has been so nice to be able to unwind, relax and enjoy my family. I already dread going back to work next week!

Since Abbi is taking a nap, I thought I would share the card I made for this week's Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz.

This week the challenge is 'Anything Goes'. There is a twist, if you choose, to use your favorite things and stripes.

The favorites that I chose were from my crafting supplies. My dies, MME pattern papers and one of my 'new' favorite stamp sets, Fairy Wishes by Layers of Colors. Now tomorrow my crafting supply favorites will probably change as I am sure they do with most people ;)

Hello!

I am going to keep my post short and sweet today. We start our holiday celebrations today and I still have a lot to get done before we head out the door!

The sentiment is from Penny Black's Winter Whites and Greens stamp set. I thought the sentiment was too plain so I used the Mini Floral Vines stencil from Crafters Workshop to add the swirls and dots. And of course after adding the stencilling, I wasn't sure if I like it. You got to experiment every once and a while, right? :)

Hiya!!

This card uses Layers of Colors Beautiful Lace stamp set. The doily in tucked behind the sentiment is one of the stamps in the set. I stamped the doily on white paper and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged Pumice Stone Distressed Ink over the embossing to give it a aged look. The dress is covered with Rock Candy Stickles.

The pattern papers are Authentique's Uncommon.

Snowman all a glitter

Hi!!

Today I would like to share my sample card for this weeks Twisted Thursday's challenge going on over at The Outlawz. The challenge for this week is to include a snowman and glitter on you project.

The snowman I used is a Lili of the Valley stamp called Mr Snowman. I colored him with a combination of copics and prisma pencils. I added a lot of glitter so Mr Snowman is quite sparkly!

His scarf took an interesting journey. I colored it with copics, shaded it with the pencils and covered it with crystal stickles. The stickles took on an odd shade of green which I did not like so I covered that with dazzling diamonds glitter. It definitely has a lot of sparkle but it also looks like it's fuzzy which is what made it interesting.

The snow is flowersoft and while the glue was still wet, I sprinkled glitter over the flower soft to give the snow a subtle sparkle.

I wanted the snowflakes to have some dimension and sparkle so I punched them out, coated them with white liquid applique, which I heat until puffy, then I applied stickles over the puffed up liquid applique.

Yes, that's a lot of glitter, of you can never have to much glitter right? ;)

Buckled gate fold

Hi!!

How are your holiday preparations going? I am so thankful we will be going to other family homes for the holiday festivities. If anything was going to be at my house, I would be in a total state of panic right now as I would have a lot of cleaning to do in the next couple of days! lol!

I wanted to share another gate fold card I made. I always struggle finding a way to keep them closed other than using a belly band, so I tried something different this time and it worked!.

The label stamp is Layers of Colors Elegant Labels. The sentiment inside the label is Gina K Designs Holiday Hospitality. The two Ornaments are from Some Odd Girls Tree Trimming Kaylee stamp set. The ornaments are colored with copics. Unfortunately I can not share the colors like I usually do because I forgot to write them down :)
Now let me show you what I did to keep the card closed.

I created a buckle closure which I hid behind the image panel so you do not see it when the card is closed. It worked really well at keeping the card closed :)

Let is snow in circles

Happy Monday!

Today I have a fun winter card to share with you that was really quick and easy to make.

I used PaperTrey's Holiday Tags stamp set for the circles. They are matted on cork paper which I cut out using a couple different circle dies.

The background is vellum which I embossed with Cuttlebug's Snowflake EF. I also embossed a strip of white paper for the border.

Gatefold Holiday

Hi!

Today I would to share my card with you for the Twisted Thursday challenge on the Outlawz Challenge Group. This week our challenge is to create Gate Fold cards using holiday colors.

It has been a long time since I have made a gatefold card so I had fun with this challenge. I used several stamp sets for the card. The label stamp is Elegant Labels by Layers of Color. The poinsettia is Winter Whites and Greens by Penny Black. The sentiment is Cozy Friends by Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I love it when you can easily mix and match stamps from other companies.

The poinsettia is colored with copics, R22, R24, R27, R29/YG0000, YG03, YG21, YG23, YG25.

I used my favorite Cheery Lynn Die, Fanciful Flourish.

Here is a picture of the card when it's open. I kept the inside fairly simple.

Colorful Thanks

Hi!

Today we had temperatures in the lower 40's...it's a heat wave compared to the last week! lol! I took advantage of it and went for a short walk.

In my cleaning mode this weekend I found this card and realized I had not shared it yet on my blog.

This doll is a CC Designs stamp called Cute Birgitta. She is colored with copics, YG05, YG07, YG09/YR00, YR01, YR02/E000, E00, E23, E25, E31, E34, E42/R02. All the papers are scraps.

This weekend I finally got my house decorated for the holidays...now I just need to finish up my shopping!

Chillin' Owls

Happy Friday Friends!!

When I saw these cute little owls in SNSS Freezin' Season stamp set and the branches in the God's Purpose stamp set, I knew I wanted to make a card with the owls sitting on the branches.

I stamped the owls and branches on separate papers, colored them with copics, then cut the owls out to sit on the branches.

The copics I used are E09, E23, E25, E27, E30, E31, E33, E34/Y38/R59.

Medallion Ornament

Hi!

It's Thursday so that means it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we have fun one for you called "Make an Ornament". We would like you to create a project that included either an ornament on your project or to make an actual ornament.
Here is my sample -

I made an actual ornament using the doilies from Layers Of Colors Beautiful Lace Stamp set. I stamped the larger doily twice on green cardstock with versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I did the same for the smaller doily using ivory cardstock. I then scored each doily in between the "points". From there I cut up one score line to the center and valley folded the doilies. The two same size doilies were combined to make the medallions.

Here is a side view so you can see the folds. I used an empty ribbon spool for the base of the ornament and covered it with gold cardstock.

Teacup Fairy

I was playing around with one my new stamps sets from Layers Of Colors a couple of weeks ago and I finally got around to taking a picture of the card and editing it for my blog.

All the images are from LOC's Fairy Wishes stamp set. This set was designed by Nina Brackett and I just love it!! The teacup is a free template that Laura gave away during a recent LOC tea party hop. You can find it here. The teacup can be used as a card. I chose to cut the template in half to use on my card.

Holiday Tree Ornament

Every Saturday at The Outlawz is a new challenge for the Paper Ala Mode group. This week I thrilled to be a part of the PAM challenge.

The PAM challenge this week is - Create a Holiday Tree Ornament Project!! You could make an actual ornament, or make a card/project with an ornament on it!

I went with a card for my sample.

I bought my very first Stampin' Up stamp set, Holiday Happiness, 9 years ago. Every year I buy more Christmas Stamp sets but have always gone back to this set and created at least one Christmas Card with it. I just love the ornaments in this set :)

I wanted the ornament to match the colors of my papers so I inked the stamp with versamark, then inked over the versamark with SU's Rose Red before heat embossing the image with clear embossing powder. I added stickles to the ornament to make it sparkly.

The green doily behind the ornament is a Cheery Lynn Doily Die. I love these doily dies and this is the first time I have cut one out with pattern paper. It gives it a different look doesn't it?

I finally had a chance to take pictures of the Christmas cards I have been working on for my Mom so I can start sharing them with you :)

The ornament image is Lili of the Valley's Christmas Baubles. I stamped the image with versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I water colored the image with Distressed Inks which is something I haven't done in ages. I think I will try it again only with a large image to color. It was a bit of a challenge to add the shading to those small ornaments, flowers and holly leaves ;)
The sentiment is Happy Circular Sentiments and is also a Lili of the Valley stamp.

All wrapped up

Hi!

Today I would like to share my sample card I made for this week's Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we have named the challenge "All Wrapped Up". With the holiday season in full swing now we are thinking ahead to all of the gifts that will be wrapped with the bright holiday wrapping papers, ribbons and tags. Can you see where I am going with the All Wrapped Up theme? If guess that we want you to create a project that uses bright holiday pattern papers, a tag and ribbons or bow, you are correct ;)

That little festive penguin is from Sweet and Sassy's Cozy Friends Stamp set and the snowflakes on the tag behind him is from their Snowflake Flourish stamp set.

The little tag attached to the bow is PTI's Tiny Tags and is cut out with the matching die.

The pattern papers are Webster's Pages.

Holiday Hello

Hi!

I think I mentioned in a recent post that I was making Christmas cards for my Mom to give her co-workers. So far I have not any duplicates. They are all different. I plan to take a couple of them and mass produce for the Christmas cards that I will be mailing out. I have six days off of work over the Thanksgiving holiday and my goal is to get all the Christmas cards made and ready to mail. Wish me luck! lol!
This is one of the Xmas cards I have made so far.

This one was very quick and easy to make and could easily be mass produced. I used Gina K Designs Holiday Cheer and Blessed is the Season stamp sets. I have a ton of older Christmas paper which I am forcing myself to use first before I dig into my new packs. It's not easy let me tell you!

I have one last fall/autumn card to share with you. The image is a digi by Anne's Digital Art and I colored it with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Autumn Beauty stamp set. I used some pattern papers sitting on my table that were leftovers from making Halloween cards. I love it when I can use some of my pattern paper scraps. I often forget to check my scrap drawer first when I start to make a card so you can imagine how full my pattern paper scrap door is! ;)

Hi and welcome to the Gina K CSS Alumni November blog hop!!!

You should have come by the way of the Miesje's fabulous blog. If you just stopped by to visit, I encourage you to start at the beginning of the hop here. These talented girls have some gorgeous eye candy to share tonight!

Carolina picked out this festive picture as our inspiration piece for creating our projects.

A few things I noticed right away in the photo was the colors and the circle shapes. The next was some of the decorations on the boxes such as the bows, the simple sentiments and the poinsettia.
My first card uses the pink and blue colors.

I used the tree from the Spirit of Christmas stamp set. I colored right on the stamp with memento markers to get the branches green and the trunk brown. I decorate it with pink rhinestones and a sparkling star. I finished off the card with a big pink bow.

For my next card I used circles and some of the darker colors from the picture.

I used pattern papers and a border die that went with my circle theme. The poinsettia is from A Year of Flowers and was colored with copics, E40, E41, E42, G82, G85, G94 and YR20. I covered the petals with crystal stickles and the leaves with rock candy stickles. In the center are three pearls. I finished off the card with a couple of simple sentiments and a bow.

Shapes and flakes

Hello my friends!!
This week the Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz is 'Shapes and Snowflakes'! Have I intrigued you?
Let me explain a little bit about the challenge - What we mean by shapes is the shape of the card or project. No standard sized cards(4 1/2 x 5 1/2). Our twist this week is to add at least one snowflake to your creation.
The DT has created some fabulous projects to give you some inspiration. You can check them out here.

Here is my sample -

I used spellbinders labels 17 for my card base. The Santa image is from Bo Bunny's Father Christmas Stamp set which I picked up at a local craft store.
The musical notes behind the Santa is Lili of the Valley's Grunge Music. I cut it out with spellbinders labels 7.

After I punched the snowflakes out, I covered them with white liquid applique and heated it until it just started to get puffy. I let them sit for a minute then put stickles right over the puffed liquid applique.

I Believe

Hi!

I can't believe how fast the weekends fly by! Did you all have a good weekend? We has a quiet weekend. I did the usual cleaning and laundry. We caught up on some of the DVR and I worked on Christmas cards. My Mom asked me to make her Christmas cards for a few of her co-workers again this year. I make quite a few different ones and then let Mom pick out the ones she wants. So you will be seeing some Christmas cards here on my blog as soon as I can take the photos and edit them.

Today I have a card to share that I made a few weeks ago when I was using up some of my scraps.

The image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things Who's That Girl - Choose Hope stamp set. The pattern papers are from SU and I am sure long retired! I paper pieced the gals top with the same papers I used on the card. The rolled roses are made using white felt. I have much better luck making the rolled flowers with felt than I do with paper...not sure why but they just do not look as nice with the paper as they do with the felt.

I am a day behind posting about The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. It's been one of those weeks let me ya!
Our challenge this week is "What we are Thankful for".
I know I have so much to be thankful for and right up there at the top is you, my awesome followers and readers of my blog!! THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit, leaving comments and just supporting my blog! I cherish each and everyone of you.
But I am sure like many of you, what I am most thankful for is my family which inspired me to make a scrapbook page as my sample for the challenge.

The page is 12 x12. All the papers are SU. The sentiments are from Gina K's Sweetest Memories and Lean on Me stamp sets. The sunflowers are from PTI's Round and Round stamp set. The doilies in the corners are Cheery Lynn Dies. I love that I can cut out my own doilies with paper that matches my projects.

It's been a long time since I made a scrapbook page so I really enjoyed making this one and already have ideas for a couple more.

I added stickles to her hair bow, flowers and trim on her dress. The sentiment is Mini Postage Stamps by Whimsy Stamps.

Bundled up

Hiya!

I got a very nice surprise Friday evening. Did you know that Sweet N Sassy Stamps is celebrating their 4th birthday and had a big release of many new stamps and dies last Thursday. Well I wasn't able to attend their release party Thursday night so I popped in Friday to check out the chatter, DT samples, the challenges and to see who won the blog hop prize which was the entire November release. As I got to the end of the chatter where they announced the winner of the blog hop prize and saw my name as the winner...SWEET!!! I was so excited I had my hubby and daughter come look and they said "Who is Sharri of Istamp4u?" and yes they were serious! Sheesh! lol!

Anywho, part of the prize was several new digi stamps which Korin sent to me right away so I of course had to make a card with one of them! ;)

This one is called Bundled Up Snowman. I couldn't resist paper piecing his coat, mitten, scarf and ear muffs.

I added some polor white flower soft along the bottom for the snow. I just realized I forgot to finish his ear muff! Whoops! Close your eyes and picture them with puffed up liquid applique - k?

The snowflake tucked behind is Cheery Lynn's Italian Flourish Doily die.

I entered this in the Sweet N Sassy Release Party Challenge #3 which was to use 2 or more dies or punches.

Getting fancy with paper

Are you ready for another of The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenges? This week we have a fun one for you! This weeks challenge is to use a fancy fold on your project.
Here is my sample -

I incorporated the fancy fold in my card base. Take a look at the below picture to get an idea of how I folded the card.

I found a tutorial for this type of card months ago and thought I had it bookmarked but obviously not because I can not find it! I thought it was a tutorial by Claudia Rosa but i could not find it on her blog so if you remember seeing the tutorial, please let me know so I can give them credit :)

Let me give you some details about the card.
I started out with a 6x12 piece of cardstock and when folded, the card measures 4x4. The pattern paper is MME Six by Six - Blink of an Eye. The frame and sentiment are from Gina K Designs Dreams stamp set. The doily is a Cheery Lynn die called French Pastry Doily which I picked up at a local scrapbook store.
I used a ribbon to create a belly band to hold the card together when folded.

Happy Monday and Happy Halloween!!

Can you believe today is the last day of October? This month has just flown by! I do not think I am going to make my goal of having all my Christmas shopping done and cards made by Thankgiving unless I can drag the next 3 weeks out into 5 or 6! lol! But then if I could make time stand still, I probably wouldn't be making Christmas cards ;-P

Since it's Halloween here in the US it seem only fitting that I share a Halloween card with you today.

This card is actually my sample for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge of Anything Goes. The challenge goes until Wednesday at midnight cst. So there is still time for you to join us :o)
The image is a digi from Anne's Digital Art. If you like digi images, I encourage you to check out Anne's blog and also the digi group over at The Outlawz. She gives away quite a few of her digi's for free!

I colored this little guy first with lighter colored copics and then added shading with prisma pencils and oms.
The pattern papers are Basic Grey's Eerie. The button is MFT die and was cut out of black fun foam. You can use fun foam with any dies. I especially like using it for buttons and flowers.

For this hop, we were to create a project using a sketch designed by our very own Melissa Cash.
Here is the sketch -

and this is what I came up with using the sketch.

I was a bit of a rebel and decided to flip the sketch and have my focal panel a bit slanted ;-)
The sunflowers are from the Autumn Beauty Stamp set. I colored them with copics, YG01, YG23, YG25, YG71/E33, E39/Y32, Y35, YR12, YR21, YR24. For the three strips I used an open oval border die to cut the borders in matching pattern papers and threaded ribbon through them.
The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye - Lost & Found Two - Sunshine pack.

I have a quick post for you this morning before I tackle my to do list for today.

I used all scrap paper on the card. The pattern paper is scraps from my PTI Ledger pack. I used stamps from The Crafts Meow Telegram stamp set for the focal of my card. I tried something a bit different with the twine by treading it through the eyelets and then around the front panel. After I did it, I am not sure I really like it.

I felt this little gal should have some sparkle so I covered her pumpkin suit and hat in stickles. I also added a coat of crystal lacquer to her shoes.

Love letter

Happy Monday my crafty friends!

Have you every colored a bunch of images at one time, set them aside to use on a project and then forgot about them?

I do that a lot! I recently came across this SOG image I had colored over a month ago...

This gal is Love Letter Kaylee. I thought it would fun to add a little envelop with a letter sticking out to the design of the card. For the envelop, I dug out my SU mini envelop template and used spellbinders scalloped tag and labels 23 for the sentiment I tucked inside.

The paper are MME - Lime Twist Fly a Kite.

Copics I used to color Kaylee are - R32, 35, 37, 37, 39/BG10, 11, 13, 18/E000, 00, 35, 40, 41/Y23/YR23.

Recipe using critters

Hiya!!
It's that time of the week for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge! This week we have a recipe challenge. The recipe is to use 2 critters, Swirls and texture on your project.

This is my DT sample -
This little cutie is Mouse with Sunflower by Stampavie. The lightest coloring was done with copics and the shading was done with Prisma Pencils/OMS. I covered the sunflower, leaves and butterflies with stickles. The stem has a thick coat of crystal lacquer on it as do the bumble bees.
The swirls are from my Fanciful Flourish Cheery Lynn die. I got mine at a LSS but I am seeing them on-line now too.
The flower is My Favorite Things Rolled Daisy which is cut out of felt.
The texture is Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots and Sizzix Petals a Plenty embossing Folders.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Adventure Mini Postage stamps and was cut out using Spellbinders Labels 23. They fit perfect in there, don't they?

I had a chance to spend some time at my craft table the past couple of weekends and I decided to spend a day using up some of my scrap papers.

I used a lot of pattern papers from my scraps on this card. Even the sentiment is stamped on pattern paper. When I saw the September Who's that Girl Chooses Hope VIP kit from MFT, I ordered it right away just for the all the sentiments in it. The sentiment I used is from the mini exclusive stamp set in the kit and is probably my favorite. Of course that may change when I use the other sentiments ;)
I used a couple of MFT die's - mini rolled rose and the file tab dies.

Twisted Thursday's Fall-ow us Challenge

Here is my DT sample -
I used Sweet N Sassy's Poppies and Greetings Stamp set for both the poppies and sentiment.
I used copics to color my lightest shade on the flowers then used prisma pencils/OMS to add the shading. The grass was added with the pencils.
I used several Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders to add texture to all the panels. I did not have green pearls that matched the cardstock so I used a copic marker to color a white pearl to match.

I have a tutorial to share with you. I will show you how to make a gift bag. The gift bag is about the same size as a paper lunch bag only not quite as tall.

Let's get started –

Supplies:
2 sheets of 12x12 cardstock
Pattern paper
Scor Tape or other two sided tape
Adhesive
Scor Pal
2 - 13 inches of ribbon or rope twine
4 eyelets
Embellishments as needed

Directions:
Cut both pieces of the 12x12 cardstock at 10-1/4" x 9-1/4".

With your Scor Pal, score along the 10-1/4 side of the cardstock at 1" and 4-1/4".

Turn the cardstock and score along the 9-1/4 side of the cardstock at 3". Crease all of your score lines.

On both 10-1/4 x 9-1/4 pieces of paper, you will cut in the 3" score line to the 1" score line and up the 1" score line to the 3" score line remove the 1" the corner piece. Also cut up the 4-1/4" line to the 3" line.

I cut off the corners of the 1" score line at an angle. I find this helps create a clean line along the top and make the bottom easier to fold together.

Apply Scor tape to the larger bottom tabs.

Flip the paper over and apply Scor tape to the 1" tabs, both the smaller bottom tabs.
I just realized I did not take a picture showing how I applied the Scor tape to the other side! Sorry about that!

Fold your score lines as shown in the picture above.

Attach one side of the bag to the other as shown in the picture above.

Attach the pattern paper, if desired, to the bag panels. The dimensions for the front/back pattern paper pieces are 5-7/8 x 6-1/8. The side pieces are 3-1/8 x 6-1/8.

I also added a border around the bag.

Now we will finish assembling the box. Tape the last sides together.

Fold in the side tabs.

Fold down the front and back tabs.

Punch two holes on the front and back of the bag for the eyelets. I punched the holes 1/2" down and 1-1/4" from the sides.

Thread the ribbon through the eyelets and tie a knot at the end of the ribbons pieces. I used rope twine in place of ribbon.

I finished off my gift bag with a flower treatment and leafy flourishes.

Anything Goes on Twist Thursday

Happy Thursday and you know what that means...it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz!
This week is the last of the month and keeping with tradition, we are having an Anything Goes Challenge!! You can create whatever you want using any type of medium with the only exception being that you can only use 50% of Alcohol Marker, such as Copics, as your medium. Now you do not have to use copics at all but the option has been added to the Twisted Thursday Challenges. I love this twist because I can color my image with light colors of copics and use my pencils to add the shading. If you do that though make sure to use the copics first and then the pencils.

Here is my DT sample for the challenge.
As you can see I did not color at all on my card. The butterflies and sentiment are from the Everyday Miracles Stamp set by Sweet N Sassy Stamps.
I stamped the butterflies on patter paper, heat embossed them and cut them out. The sentiment is cut out with Spellbinders Label 9 and matted on one of Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs. The flourish swirls that the ribbon is threaded through are part of the Floral Doily Motifs dies.

Happy Wednesday!

Today is my Friday at work!! My Hubby is off too and I am really looking forward spending some time together. It's his birthday tomorrow and he has yet to tell me what he would like for or what he wants to do for his birthday so right now I guess we will be winging it ; -)

This is the birthday card I made for him.

At first I wasn't sure what I should do for his bday card so I started out by picking out the papers. I decided on the My Minds Eye Lost & Found - Breeze papers and as I was pulling out the ones I wanted to use, I thought the images on the papers would make a good focal point for a card. So I went with that and created a collage type card using the images on the pattern paper. The only part that is stamped is the ticket which is My Favorite Things Just the Ticket stamp set and their matching ticket die.
The bingo card I picked up at a lss.

I really like how this turned out.I hope he likes it too!!

A rose for Mom

Happy Monday cyber friends!!

It has been raining on and off all weekend and still raining today! Yuck!
Saturday we went to WI Badger game and I froze my hinny off!! It was a good game but I would have enjoyed it much more if it wasn't raining and was warmer!! Before the game we went to a tailgate party put on by a local radio station. My hubby won free passes for it...they had free food and beverages. That was fun!!
I should have stayed there during the game lol!
The rest of my weekend was spent craft table working on some projects that I can not show you yet...here's a hint...they are for an upcoming party!!!

I realized I had not shared this card with you yet. This was published in the May/June issue of Through The Craftroom Door Magazine.
The rose and leaves are from Heartfelt Creations Grandiflora Rose and Leafy Swirls stamps sets. I stamped the rose 4 times on pattern paper with versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Then cut out different pieces of three of the roses to layer them for dimension. The leaves and sentiment are also heat embossed with the gold embossing powder. The pin and charm have been in my stash for quite a while. I believe they are on of T.H.'s Ideology collections.

Tonight the GKD CSS Alumni girls are shakin' it up with a treasure chest hop.

Fall reminds me of pumpkins and the autumn beautiful colors so I went with fall colors and pumkins for my card.

I used The Giving Tree and Autumn Beauty stamp sets to create my shaker card. Inside the shaker is leaves punch from the same color cardstock as I used for the card and the little pumpkins were one-time brads. I did not have a little pumpkin punch so I cut off the prongs of the pumpkin brads and used them.

Happy Thursday!

Thursday's mean it's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz. This week we are challenging you to create a project that includes stitching in it. We know not everyone has a sewing machine and we do want you all to be able to play along so we are accepting any kind of stitching...faux, hand-stitching, sewing on a button...what ever you can think of that resemble stitching.
Here is my sample -
The teacup is from Layers of Colors Teacup Blessing stamp set. I colored it with Prisma pencils and oms. The stitching was done with a sewing machine.
Now that I am looking at the picture, the colors are a bit washed out. They are more vibrant irl.
The pattern papers are from K&Company's Julianne pack. The butterfly and flower embellishments have been in my stash for a very long time.

Hello!
I was so hoping when school started I would have more time for crafting...I am still hoping it will happen!
Abbi has joined Strings and will be playing the viola. She has been talking about it non-stop and has been telling and showing me everything she has learned. Don't you just love seeing kids that excited about something! Now if she were only that excited about doing homework...lol! It's going to be a long year I am afraid with many battles of the will over homework.

Today I am sending all of you a little bit of sunshine...
This is Rainy Day Emma by CC Designs. She is colored with copics and I apologize, I forgot to write down the colors I used on her.
I added a lot of textures to the card using a couple of embossing folders, Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots and Sizzix Rays.
It's hard to see in the picture but I added stickles to her umbrella and crystal lacquer to her coat and boots for a shiny look. I remember growing up I had a nice shiny raincoat and rain boot.

Happy Thursday!!
It's that time of the week for the Twisted Thursday Challenge at The Outlawz! This week we want to see your favorite technique. You can check out the challenge here and also see the other DT samples for the challenge.
I have several techniques that I love but I think my favorite is "Polished Stone". SCS has a great tutorial on the polished stone technique here. You can also use alcohol ink refills for this technique instead of the regular reinkers and rubbing alcohol. You would follow the exact same step in the tutorial except the step of adding the rubbing alcohol to the cotton ball.
I used the alcohol ink refills for my polished stone background. I let the inks dry completely then stamped the silhouette image with versamark and heat embossed it with Zinger Brown Sugar embossing powder.
The silhouette is from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set by The Crafts Meow and the sentiment is from the same set. The frame around the sentiment is from their Timeless Tags stamp set.

Hi!!
I am a happy girl today!
I was a Design Team Favourite again this week for Make It Monday. Thank you so much Kerrie for picking my Just a Note card!!

I also would like to thank Leslie from the Come and Get It Challenge Blog for selecting my Back to School card as a top pick.

As you can see I used two other colors with my many shades of pinks. I just couldn't do my flowers with out green leaves and stems! lol!
The flowers are from a 3 different stamps sets by Gina K Designs - Buds & Vases, Friendship Garden, and Purr-fectly Delightful. I stamped the flowers in the frame from Inspiration Mosaic which is also Gina K Designs. The flowers are colored with Copics - YG03, YG25/RV10, RV11, RV13, RV42/R00, R01, R11, R20, R21, R22, R30, R32/T3, T5, T6, T7/C00.
The sentiment is also from the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set and is matted on Spellbinders Labels 17. The flourishes are the new Spellbinders Floral Flourishes.
I added some stickles to the flowers and distressed stickles to the leaves. You can see a bit of the sparkle on the flowers. I finished off the card with ribbon, lace and Wild Orchid Roses.

Do any of you layout all the pieces and layers of your card before you glue them down? I do that to make sure I like what I have designed and can swap things out if I need to. Well with this card I had a completely different design layout and when I went to glue the layers down I glued them in the wrong order...oops! It's not what I wanted but I think it works :o)

Tonight we all created projects using this photo from Pier 1 Imports for inspiration.
The first thing I noticed about the photo was the colors and the diamond pattern on the quilt and the headboard.

My first card uses the diamond pattern and the colors Ocean Blue, White and Kraft Pure Luxury Papers.

The flowers and sentiment are from Gina's Enjoy the Sunshine stamp set. I stamps the flower and sentiment on Gina's Kraft paper with white ink. I added a bit of shading under the flowers with my white prisma pencil. I paired the kraft paper up with Gina's Ocean Mist.

The pattern papers are MME Stella Rose - Mabel.

Twisted Thursday's recipe

Happy Thursday!
It's time for another Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz. This week we are have a recipe challenge and asking that you create a project that uses use any two of the following fall colors - Red, Yellow, Brown, or Orange and any three of the following embellishments - brad, ribbon, eyelet, button, flower, pearl or rhinestone.
Here is my sample -

I chose to use a dark brown and red for my colors - I know the brown in the picture looks almost black but it is really brown ;-)
My embellishments are a brad, an eyelet and ribbon.
The flowers are a Sweet n Sassy stamp from their Wildflowers stamp set. I embossed the flowers on pattern paper. Since I do not have brown embossing powder, I inked the image with brown ink and inked versamark over the brown ink, stamped it on the paper and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
The sentiment is Birthday Letter Seals from Whimsy stamps.

Hi!

It is the last day of summer for us. Abbi starts school tomorrow. We finished school shopping over the weekend and somehow I got talked replacing our wii which quit working a few months ago. Abbi and I have been having fun playing the Just Dance games and she even got Grandma to play a few games with her yesterday.

I also bought myself a new camera so hopefully you will see an improvement in my photos as I learn where all the settings are and how they work. This one is off limits to hubby ;o)

I even has some time to play with my paper and stamps over the weekend!

This little guy is Peter from CC Designs Fairytales collection. I bought it at 7 Kids College Fund. He is colored with copics - B93, B95, B97/E000, E00/W00, W0, T2, T3, T5/E40, E41, E42, E43, E44/E31, E33, E35, YR20.

Hi!
Quick post for you today...
I came across this cute and free Motivet digi image last year which I tucked away in a folder on my laptop and completely forgot about it. Recently was cleaning up my folders and found the little guy!
I shaded the kitten with Copics Coo, C1, the ears and nose with R000, R20 and the flower was colored with Y4, Y6, Y8/E27, E29.
The sentiment is from PTI's Round & Round stamp set.
This card came together very easily and quickly which I like very much these days ;)

Make a Wish

Hiya!!
It's Friday!! Woot Woot!!
Even though it's a busy one I am very happy it is here!!
This cutie is an image by CC Designs.
I used copics for coloring and added some glitter to her hair bows, clips and the frosting on the cupcake.
The make a wish ticket is from the Whimsy stamp set called Ticket Sentiments.
The only embellishment I used was the twine.
I ran the pattern paper through my cuttlebug using the dots embossing folder to give it a bit of texture.

I have decided I need to buy a new camera. My DH has played around with the settings, dropped it a few times and I just can not get a decent picture no matter what I try or do...argh! I would love to hear what kind of camera you use or recommend using.

Happy Thursday my friends!
We have a new Twisted Thursday challenge over on The Outlawz Challenge site.
This weeks challenge is Anything Goes…with a optional twist. The twist is to use one of the digi stamps that our very own DT gal Anne has drawn just for this challenge. You can find these digi's on the challenge thread via the link above.
I used the Leaf Border digi to create my card. I used copic markers to lay down my base color for me leaves and shaded them with prisma pencils. I found a MS leaf border punch in my punch basket that matched the leaf border perfectly. I also used a leaf embossing folder on the base of my card.
I created the sentiment myself and finished off the card using a few buttons and twine.

Butterfly Wishes

Hello my friends!
I have been quiet here on my blog because I have not had much time for crafting!
I do have a card to share today that took me awhile to make because I could only work on it for short periods of time.

The silhouette was stamped with versamark on the pattern paper and heat embossed with black embossing powder. The silhouette image and the sentiment are from The Craft's Meow's Butterfly Kisses stamp set. The sentiment is stamped inside their Timeless Tags stamp set. The Timeless Tags goes with the spellbinders Grommet Tags.
The flower is a crocheted rolled rose that I made. I like to crochet when we are traveling in the car. Since we have been doing some day trips, I have a nice little stash of crocheted flowers started.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
The Craft's Meow's monthly sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch for my card. Gotta be different ya know - *wink*.

Happy Friday friends!
A couple of weeks ago I spent a Saturday just coloring images and figured it was about time I started making cards with them.
This is Little Frieda. She is stamped on cyrogen paper and colored with copics - E000, E00, E21, E23, E25, E27, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, R20, R21, R30, R32, Y13, YG41, BG10, BG11, W0.
The sentiment is from Kindred Greeting for Her by GKD.
The pattern papers are MME Lost & Found Market Street.
I added stickles to all the flowers. The flowers are actually a pink color but in the picture the stickles make them look green.

Quick post for you today. It's been very hard for me to post, edit picture or visit my favorite sites because my internet is having issues so I got to be quick before it goes out on me again :)

I am lovin' this new Craft's Meow stamp set called Telegram! Every image/sentiment I used on the card is from that stamp set. This card went together pretty fast. The only thing that took some time was trying to figure out what to do with all the ivory space around the little telegram tag.
The pattern papers are from my scraps drawer.

Hi!
I got some new goodies to play with and used a few on my card today.
The background stamp is called Classified by Whimsy Stamps. The embossed Ticket is a Sizzix by Tim Holtz embossing folder. This one is part of a 3 pack called Texture Trades. Before I removed the ticket from the embossing folder I inked the raised side with Antique Linen distressed ink.

The annual pass birthday ticket is from the Just the Ticket stamp set by My Favorite Things. A ticket die comes with this stamps set which I used to cut the ticket out. The little strips of mini tickets are also by MFT and it's called Mini Ticket Strip Border.

All the edges on the card were inked with the Antique Linen distressed ink.

Birthday Telegram

The older of my 2 brothers has twin boys and it was their birthday yesterday. The party for them was yesterday afternoon and I realized yesterday morning I did not have any boy birthday cards left so I sat down and quickly made up a couple. I did not take a picture of the other card as it is almost exactly like this one. The stamps are all from the Telegram stamp set by The Craft's Meow. All the papers, pattern too, are SU.
The size of the card is a 6x6 so I could have some space around the telegram so the pattern papers would show.

Fun with Fabric

Happy Friday!!
Another work week is over and what an interesting one it has been!!
I did not get a chance to post all week and really wanted to share this card with you yesterday as I made if for The Outlawz Thursday Challenge. The challenge this week is to use fabric on your creation. How fun is that?! I know the DT sure had fun with it and we are seeing some very creative creations using fabric in the challenge gallery!
The fabric on my card is the fabric rolled rose. My dear friend Sue showed me how to make them. The rolled rose on top the ribbon rose and in the upper right were made with velvet paper.
The card shape was made by folding the largest grand scalloped oval in half. The pattern papers are MME - Lost & Found Portabella Road. I love the Lost & Found paper packs!

Now that we have gotten the card out of the way I want to tell you about some changes we have made to our Thursday challenge...We have changed the name of our Thursday Challenge from POM to Twisted Thursday! We thought that name was appropriate because we have added a twist to our challenges and we are allowing you to now use Copic Markers or any other alcohol based markers. The twist is that you can only color your images using 50% copic markers. The rest can be any other medium. Woo Hoo!!! Now that doesn't mean we won't throw in another twist here and there to mix it up a bit ;o)

Homemade pattern paper

You know what Thursdays here on my blog mean...The Outlawz Pom Group challenge at The Outlawz! This week we are challenging you to create your own pattern paper. I for one can not wait to see your homemade pattern paper!!

This is my sample to get your creative juices flowing.
I used Gina K Designs Tropical Flowers Stamp set to create my pattern paper. I did not want to take away from my pattern paper so I kept the card fairly simple with just a sentiment as the focal image. The sentiment is from the Encouragement stamp set by Layers of Colors.

Happy times

Hi!
I don't know how many times I have colored an image before I pick out the papers I want to use with it and then can not find any papers I like to go with it...do you do that?
Well this is one of those images! This is a Bildmalarna stamp from the Winged Collection called On a Walk.
A couple of weekends ago I sat at my craft table and was determined to make a card using the image. So I pulled GKD's Tan Leather and SU Perfect Plum to get started. The background paper is the SU embossed with a flower embossing folder and after embossed, I coated the paper with clear Distressed Crackle Paint. I let it dry and loved how it turned out!

Here is a close up view but the picture does not do it justice. It looks really cool IRL. I am going to use this technique again next time when I color without first picking out my papers ;)

He Loves Me...

I am still very busy at work and also my home life.
I have to share a proud Mom moment with you. Abbi has never taken swim lessons what so ever and after 6 lessons she has advanced up two levels! I have a little fish on my hands! She is very excited about moving up and wants to continue with the lessons which I am thankful for.

Hi!
When I saw this weeks Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge I knew I had to play along! This week their challenge is to Create a card or project that depicts the sharp contrast of black & white or ivory. I love black and white or black and ivory together.
I went with the black and ivory so I could use some of my DCWV La Creme papers. The sentiment is from Layers of Colors Encouragement Art stamp set. This is now one of my favorite scripture's set!
The flourish is Cheery Lynn's Tropical Flourish die.

I just adore all of the Lili of the Valley stamps! This cutie is no exception. She is called Pom Pom and I colored her with copics R0000, R000, R00, R81, R83, R85/E000, E00, E11, E25, E31, E34, E50/Y000, Y00, Y00/G20, G24, G40.
The sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals and that is sitting on some SU felt flowers that I have had forever! The flourish is the Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish Die.

The pattern paper is Basic Greys Sweet Threads that I picked up a couple of weeks ago when SCACD had their paper sale.

Thursday's Anything Goes

Hi!
It's Thursday which means another challenge for The Outlawz Pom Group. Since it is the last Thursday of the month, we are sticking with tradition and having an Anythng Goes Challenge.
This is my sample for the group.
I pulled out some of my new My Minds Eye-Lost & Found paper from the Madison Avenue pack for my card. The flower image is from a Sweet N Sassy Stamp set called WildFlowers. I inked the image with versamark and then SU's Crumb Cake ink before stamping it on the pattern paper. I sprinkled the image with clear embossing powder and used my heat tool to set the embossing powder.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Treasured Moments Tickets set and that was stamped on a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3. Before I removed the sentiment from the die, I sponged Crumb Cake ink around the sentiment to give it a stenciled look.

I can't keep my hubby from using my camera. We have two others in the house but he always uses mine and of course when he does, he changes the settings so I need to apologize for the colors in my photo. The colors do not have that white tone but are really more like vintage or aged ivory colors. Now we'll see how long it takes me to get my settings back to the way I had them ;o)

I picked up Marianne Walkers Shadow & Shading book to see if I could learn about light source and shading when I color my images. It's a good book and I learned a few things now I just need to practice, practice and practice!

Holiday Glitter

Hiya friends!!

How about a little holiday inspiration today?
The challenge for this weeks POM group at The Outlawz is Winter Glitter! I went with a holiday theme for my sample.
I used a couple of Gina K Designs stamp set for my card. The sentiment panel uses Blessed is the Season. The poinsettia is from A Year of Flowers. The poinsettia is colored with prisma pencils and OMS. I added glitter the petals and used a red Spica Pen for the center. To add the strip of glitter to the ribbon behind the flower, I stuck a strip of score tape in the center of the ribbon and covered the score tape with glitter.

Whew! Is it hot here? I hope your weather is much better than what we have! We have had excessive heat warnings all week and they go through tomorrow night...YUCK!!

I added texture to my leaves by embossing them with a sizzix embossing folder. I really like that look how about you?
